Description

The UCLA-VA Veteran Family Wellbeing Center is an access point for veterans and their families to UCLA services clustered around life-skills, health, recreation, prevention and wellness services, and other educational services. Primary duties include: - Supporting multiple project grants and contracts by monitoring expenses and data collection for required reports - Conducting basic statistical analysis to provide conclusions or recommendations - Acting as a program liaison to other University and VA departments - Managing BruinBuy purchasing system and monitoring inventories - Identifying potential possible funding streams and assisting with grant writing - Assisting with family and provider inquiries regarding accessing care and other services - Conducting client registrations - Maintaining a Center master calendar and coordinating site-specific activities with the VA and UCLA teams - Scheduling of community provider meetings, conference calls, tele-conferences, and local trainings - Other administrative duties as assigned Salary: $24.28/hr - $48.04/hr Please note: this position may convert to career

Qualifications

Education: Degree in social sciences, business, or general degree Experience: Prior experience in a support service role. Experience working with children, teens and adults. Experience and/or knowledge working with military populations. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel, and willingness to learn new computer-based systems for worksite management. Skills and Abilities: Skilled in keeping accurate and timely records. Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills - both by telephone and in-person. Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with individuals of various social, cultural, and educational backgrounds to obtain and convey information clearly, accurately, and courteously. Ability to work effectively and closely with other members of the service team and maintain cooperative working relationships. Excellent organizational skills and ability to attend to detail to recognize errors or discrepancies while multi-tasking. Skill in maintaining a courteous and calm demeanor and professional appearance in a changing environment with frequent interruptions and distractions. Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information in a discreet and professional manner. Ability to coordinate and maintain complex schedule, meeting calendars, email, and mail. Ability to move supplies and office equipment as needed. Ability to work flexible hours.
