Job Summary

Service Deli Clerks 1 provide exceptional guest service. The primary role is to greet guests, and assist with merchandising, preparing, and displaying product. This is done through professional, courteous, and friendly behavior. Must have a strong desire to learn and improve knowledge in service deli. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty with accuracy and maintain a high level of productivity and guest service.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the business
• Minimum 16 years of age
• Follow company rules and state-mandated health and safety laws (Food Handlers Permit). Maintain proper hygiene by washing hands frequently.
• May be required to use microwave, dishwasher, ice cream machine or other equipment. NOTE: Minors are not allowed to use or operate any equipment that requires operator to be 18 years or older, including but not limited to, oven, slicer, fryer, wrapper, ladder, step stool, cutting band saw, batter mixer.
• A current and valid state-issued food handler's permit
• Take custom service deli orders from guests, including completing order forms.
• Learn and demonstrate knowledge in service deli basics, including product descriptions and ingredients, to better serve our guests and answer any questions that might arise.
• No previous experience required
• POSITION REQUIREMENTS *
• Regular on-site attendance required
• Learn and assist with pricing, dating, preparing, packaging, and merchandising of products within set guidelines and standards.
• Prepare salads and sandwiches along with packaging meats and cheeses.
• Maintain cleanliness standards within the department.
• Ability to communicate with others

• PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS *

Work is generally performed in a safe and comfortable store environment with the possibility of frequent exposure to hot or cold conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to grasp, push, pull, carry, stoop, twist, crouch, and reach; perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and eye, hand, and foot coordination; hear and respond to customer inquiries. Also requires standing, walking and bending throughout the entire workday and the ability to maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 30 pounds from location to location.
