Position Description

Ryerson, has an opportunity for a(n) Service Center Operator B position.

As a(n) Service Center Operator B, you are responsible for operating cranes, forklifts and pulling/picking orders.

Roles And Responsibilities

▪ This position is safety sensitive. Successful candidate is required to operate a forklift and/or overhead crane.

▪ Safety is a priority – you will learn proper safety measures via online and in-person training

▪ You start the day reviewing production orders then preparing your material for processing

▪ You ensure the material meets a customer’s expectations by checking the size, finish, and accuracy of the finished product. (Measure twice, cut once!)

▪ You will use a crane and/or forklift to move material for outbound shipping.

▪ Check to make sure your machine and station is in working order and identify any issues.

Position Requirements

• High School Diploma required
• Ability to find, enter, and print information on a computer as necessary
• Physical ability to pass physical requirements exam for vision, hearing and lifting mobility
• 1-3 years prior experience
• Candidates will be asked to complete the Ramsay Corporation Combined Basic Skills Assessment.
• This position is safety sensitive and requires operating a forklift and/or overhead crane. Successful candidate must be able to operate heavy machinery.

A starting salary higher than $23.50 (pay rate) hourly is based on a level of experience and education that significantly exceeds the minimum requirements and is commensurate with the compensation scale
