Senior User Researchers, in the Digital Health unit, will establish the methodology and drive the execution of user research and usability testing for the squads they support. The Senior User Researcher will partner closely with Product Managers, Product Designers, and Engineers to conduct research that drives product roadmaps, strategy, design, and engineering decisions. The Senior User Researcher will also manage the recruitment of research participants as well as key relationships with our co-creation and collaboration partners. The Senior Product Researcher must have expertise in usability, testing, facilitation, persona development and research methodologies. The Senior User Researcher should also be comfortable working cross-functionally, fostering relationships, and delivering research presentations to partners at all levels across the organization.

Job Duties

  • Create research plans, establish and conducting research activities, analysis results, author research reports, and present findings throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Manage and actively recruit participants for research studies · Establish and maintain key relationships with co-creation and collaboration partners.
  • Engage with cross-functional counterparts to understand the research needs and inform where research can elevate and unblock processes.
  • Stays current on best practice research techniques, and looks for opportunities to incorporate into the work of the design team.
  • Lead and conduct various research, testing and feedback gather functions to improve products and services.
  • Works cross-functionally across the Digital Health unit, as well as the broader Olympus organization to foster and maintain key relationships with partners.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and direction/feedback around usability and research to the broader design and product management teams.
  • Conduct competitive analysis, to understand the product landscape and baseline functionality.
  • Create and maintain user personas across the product line.
  • Create service blueprints, journey maps, and user flow diagrams to depict the experience of a user.
  • Lead multiple research projects across different squads and products.

Job Qualifications

Required

  • Travel required (US and International).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience conduct research and testing of web applications.
  • Expertise utilizing various research design methods (e.g. user interviews, usability studies, contextual inquiry, surveys, etc.).
  • Experience leading strategic research efforts and integrating user research insights into product roadmaps, strategy, and designs.
  • Availability to attend meeting with team members spread out around the globe
  • Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in UX Research.
  • Minimum of 5 years working as part of a product team in an agile environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology, Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, or User Experience (or equivalent work experience in a related field). Master's or PhD in Anthropology, Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, or User Experience (or equivalent work experience in a related field).


Preferred:

  • Ability to work with a low-ego, highly collaborative, cross-functional team.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills; the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.
  • Strong knowledge of both quantitative and qualitative research methods.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Medical technology or healthcare experience preferred, although not required.
  • Comfortable in a highly technical environment; ability to engage with quantitative stakeholders and understand quantitative findings and materials.

The anticipated base pay range for this full-time position working at this location is $115,026.00 - $161,036.00 / year, plus potential for annual bonus (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements). Olympus considers a variety of factors when determining actual compensation for this position ncluding: level of experience, working location, and relevant education and certifications.
