As part of Xbox Players Services (XPS), the Gaming for Everyone (G4E) team is looking for a Senior Sustainability Program Manager to drive projects, collaborating with both internal teams and external partners, to bring sustainability programs to reality for our products and customers. This role integrates across the entire Microsoft Gaming business including game studios, game hardware and services, our internal Microsoft leaders, partners, and consumers. 
This candidate will help Xbox build and deliver products and services that ladder to our 2030 sustainability goals, and our commitment to building trust with customers through transparency and choice. The Senior Sustainability Program Manager will support Gaming Sustainability at Xbox by serving as the main quantification and roadmap coordinator for the team. To execute, they will anticipate and support data-based decisions by driving data awareness & transparency (both at the landscape-level and specific to each intervention). They will design and maintain executive ‘roadmap’ dashboards, create and deliver progress indicators, visuals & overviews leaders. They will establish trusted partnerships across each business group in the Xbox value chain, as well as with partners in Microsoft environment & legal departments, finance, reporting, and teams coordinating data across the ecosystem. The Senior Sustainability Program Manager will also oversee in-flight work, which may include user research, data engineering, engagement & communications.
The Senior Sustainability Program Manager should have experience in environmental data analysis, a natural aptitude for summarizing complex data, communicating with leaders internally and externally, and addressing implementation challenges that arise. This person will have a bias for action, organizational skills, and an aptitude for building trust with our engineering partners to create world class products and services. They will thrive on teams that continually evolve in order to apply the latest technology & methodology in impact measurement & reporting, and continuously adapt to meet the regulatory landscape of our complex business.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage roadmaps and estimations for a diverse portfolio of carbon and waste reduction interventions.
  • Provide environmental, data and emissions and strategic consultation to audiences, empowering them to produce world-class emissions reductions.
  • Execute strategic plans to build world class sustainability initiatives across Gaming.
  • Establish and recalibrate priorities as emerging opportunities evolve in Gaming Energy & Emissions Technology, Microsoft Strategy and Policy.
  • Drive project outcomes across teams with results that ladder up to organizational objectives and carbon footprint goals.
  • Ensure public facing products and claims align with Microsoft and international environmental policy as well as high consumer expectations of that in practice.
  • Collaborate with Microsoft business group partners, legal teams and external collaborators to drive continuous improvement in environmental practice throughout the value chain.
  • Work with Finance, Microsoft internal policy and peers to estimate emissions and cost Return-On-Investment for emerging initiatives.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Video gaming and/or tech device industry (including studio business perspective), green coding, or energy efficient engineering.
  • Citizen science games, AR (Augmented Reality)/VR (Virtual Reality), digital twins, quantified social science research, or broad-scale gamer activations.
  • Ability to communicate using data to influence, educate, support decisions & strategy in executive audiences.
  • Data engineering and visualization software (Power BI, Kusto, and/or similar).
  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
  • Knowledge of carbon accounting and Product Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions, and Data analysis.
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated people and partnership management capabilities.
  • Procurement & value chain, as it relates to decarbonization of manufacturing or structured incentives to drive innovative content, consumer engagement, and energy/emissions efficiency.
