Job Description

Description

Highlight Solar is seeking applicants to install residential grid-tied solar electric (PV) systems. In this position, the Senior Solar Installer will provide support to the crew lead of the Solar installation team, communicate job status data to the operations management, and ensure the completion of solar installation of all solar arrays/systems. It is the responsibility of every Solar Installer to ensure safe work practices for the Highlight Solar installation team.

Responsibilities

  • Clean up of solar installation job site
  • Layout and assembly of solar modules / array and mounting hardware
  • Mechanical/structural mounting of racking, modules and electrical equipment
  • Guide and lead on-site solar installation, working off of plan designs
  • Pull inventory for each solar installation job
  • Electrical wiring of solar array/system (AC and DC)
  • Document completion of completed solar installation
  • Pre-assemble job components as needed
  • Attend mandatory training sessions on new products, solar installation methodology and safety
  • Pre-assemble job components as needed

Requirements

  • Team player
  • Ability to work in extreme environments, e.g. hot sun, below freezing, crawl spaces, etc
  • Understanding/experience with electrical wiring of AC and DC systems strongly preferred
  • Experience working with all types of building materials – various roof types – stucco, wood, concrete, etc. strongly preferred
  • 2-4 years of solar installation (PV) experience
  • Several years of relevant construction experience (electrical or roof work)
  • Experience with the safe use of hand-held and power tools
  • Must be able to climb ladders and stairs, comfortably lift 50 pounds repetitively, and must be able to work on your feet for long periods of time
  • Associates degree preferred
  • Proficiency with Email and other computer programs preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Must be able to pass drug screen and criminal background and driving checks
  • Must have a clean driving record. (example, no DUI in the last 5 years)

Foster City, Fremont, Gilroy, Holister, Livermore, Los Gatos, Modesto, Monterey, Morgan Hill, Mountain View, Palo Alto, Pleasanton, Salinas, San Jose, Santa Clara, Stockton Vallejo.
