We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer who is excited about creating innovative solutions to make life effortless for our customers! As a Senior Software Engineer, you will act as a force multiplier for our engineering teams to optimize the development and operational experience of our microservices architecture. Your primary responsibility will be to identify and monitor SLIs in pursuit of measurable SLAs. Given the target, you will champion, design, build and continually improve the software stack while providing visibility to its operation in production.

You Will

  • Balance feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service level objectives
  • Build software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications
  • Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures
  • Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large distributed software applications
  • Measure and optimize system performance, with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward, getting ahead of customer needs, and innovating to continually improve
  • Run the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health
  • Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning
  • Gather and analyze metrics from both operating systems and applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding
  • Create sustainable systems and services through automation and uplifts
  • Improve reliability, quality, and time-to-market of our suite of software solutions
  • Promote and support Gopuff Engineering’s culture of inclusion and diversity

You Have

  • Experience building and operating services in a distributed environment
  • Experience with monitoring, metrics, and visualization tools (Application Insights, Icinga, Graphite, Prometheus, ELK, etc.)
  • Ability to program (structured and OO) with one or more high-level languages, such as Python, Java, C/C++, Ruby, and JavaScript
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other highly technical, scientific discipline
  • Strong knowledge of UNIX and TCP/IP and HTTP fundamentals.
  • Production experience with managing public cloud infrastructure (Azure Preferred)

Compensation:

  • Gopuff pays employees based on market pricing and pay may vary depending on your location. The salary range below reflects what we’d reasonably expect to pay candidates. A candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. For additional information on this role’s compensation package, please reach out to the designated recruiter for this role.

  • Remote - Salary Range (varies based on a cost of labor index for geographic area within United States): USD $148,200 - $235,500.
