Senior Security Officer (K9 Handler) - Security WA SHMC Spokane West Addition L3
Providence is offering up to $1000 Sign-On Bonus for eligible external candidates who meet all conditions for payment - this is in addition to the fantastic benefits and compensation package offered by Providence that begin on your first day of employment.
Shift Details: Full-time, Night shift, 40 hours a week
The K9 Security Officer performs a variety of duties and tasks related to customer service and maintaining a secure and orderly environment and protection of Providence Health Care property and facilities, patients, visitors, and caregivers. The K9 Officer works in tandem with a canine partner. The K-9 Team regularly patrols hospital property, screens visitors and performs other activities relating to the safety and security of staff, patients and visitors. The K-9 Team protects hospital property, employees, patients and visitors against theft, vandalism, aggressive individuals and other illegal or unauthorized activities. The K-9 Team is responsible for 24-hour on-call response where their presence is likely to aid in a favorable resolution.
Required qualifications:
- 3 years of previous Law Enforcement/Security/Military experience, or related work experience in healthcare setting.
- Upon request: Driving may be necessary as part of this role. Caregivers are required to comply with all state laws and requirements for driving. Caregivers will be expected to provide proof of driver license and auto insurance upon request. See policy for additional information.
Preferred qualifications:
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting
- Associate's Degree of Law enforcement, criminal justice, or other related field.
- K9 Handler training and experience
