Engineers in T. Rowe Price’s Distribution & Marketing Services – Institutional and Intermediary Technology organization are playing a key role in helping build the future of financial services, working hand-in-hand with business partners to build client experiences that are changing the way people invest. You will build groundbreaking, next-generation applications for n-tier cloud architectures.
In this Senior SDET role you will design, develop, modify, adapt and implement short- and long-term automated testing solutions for new and existing applications, systems, databases and applications infrastructure. You will review and interpret system requirements and business processes as well as code automated testing solutions and perform manual testing.
Responsibilities
  • Delivers on well-specified work items
  • Responsible for unit, functional, regression, database, accessibility and performance testing including UI, API and services testing
  • Identifies and remediates technical debt in our testing coverage
  • Demonstrates strong logic and reasoning capabilities
  • Develops technical solutions following standard methodologies with some guidance from senior testing engineers
  • Uses questions and proposals to clarify requirements when unclear
  • Responsible for developing and executing comprehensive suites of automation test plans and test cases, maintaining and adding to existing automation framework, continued evaluation of test cases for inclusion in regression, automation for newly integrated features, and development of toolsets to augment QA and Development testing
  • Contributes to all parts of the SDLC, e.g., design, development, and testing with a focus on creating automated testing solutions
  • Creates automated scripts to be used to test application functionality as well as monitor system performance and availability

  • Applies understanding of the Financial Services and Asset Management industries
Requirements
  • AWS experience is a strong plus
  • Financial industry experience is a plus
  • Is proficient with one or more of the following testing/monitoring tools; Cypress, Selenium, Cucumber, New Relic, JMeter
  • Typically requires 5+ years of demonstrated hands-on automated software testing experience.
  • Able to operate with openness and efficiency with one or more SDLC methodologies (e.g., Scrum)
  • Solid database querying knowledge
  • Experience building automated tests and test scripts and deploying to public or private clouds, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or similar providers preferred
  • Debugs and fixes your own tests and scripts with minimal assistance
  • Actively seeks feedback and guidance to improve technical skills (e.g., through submitting work for code review)
  • Participates in performance and functional testing and works with the engineering team to resolve issues
  • Understanding of ATDD, TDD, and test automation • Experience with automation tools such as Cypress, Selenium, Cucumber, Protractor, Git, Sonar, Fortify, JMeter, Splunk, New Relic
  • Enthusiasm for learning & results oriented
  • Experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced, Agile team environment

FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.
Work Flexibility
This role is eligible for remote work up to three days a week.
