Job Description
Brewer Science, Inc. is a major innovator of high-technology solutions for the semiconductor / microelectronics markets. We are currently seeking a purpose-driven candidate with an ownership mentality to fill an open position as a Senior Scientist. This position will be located in Rolla, MO.
Summary:
Provides leadership and direction for the R&D organization in order to meet the technology objectives of the company. Acts as the technical lead for research and development projects. Creates new materials and processes to meet industry challenges and refines these down to well characterized product offerings.

Responsibilities:
  • Contributes to developing new products and/or improving existing products.
  • Presents to customers and at industry forums
  • Keeps up-to-date on best laboratory notebook practices and helps to improve and implement the process
  • Helps set safety and housekeeping standards and monitors how they are practiced in daily activities
  • Contributes to quality publications, patents, trade secrets, etc., that benefits Brewer Science’s business success
  • Provides guidance/mentoring for problem solving across the organization for ongoing projects
  • Primary contributor to quality publications, patents, trade secrets, etc., that benefits Brewer Science’s business success
  • Serves as the project lead for research and development projects, initiating and driving multiple projects and multiple pathways company/BU wide
  • May manage/direct others within the team or across multiple groups
  • Serves as an adviser for setting company technical direction
  • Keeps up to date on current industry needs within the SBU and looks for new approaches to meet the needs by chemistry and process
  • Provides mentoring with experiment design and methods for in-depth data analysis.
Education & Credentials:
  • Master’s Degree plus 8 to 12 years’ experience or
  • Experience in research and development management
  • PhD preferred plus 8 years’ experience or
  • Experience bringing new products to market (optical material, thermal materials, or dielectrics) preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education and related experience
