Job Description

Pharma/Biotech Sales Professional Needed- Comp: $130-150k, incentive is target of 60-70k


Requirements:

  • MUST have scientific degree, it can be BS, MS, or PhD. Something in the biology, microbiology, or biotech field is most preferred
  • MUST have 5 years of experience in sales
  • MUST have relevant NGS sales experience; have been told if it's not obvious on the resume they will be rejected (Need to be able to talk about NGS experience, favorite sequencing tool, etc.)


What We Need

The Senior Sales Specialist, Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) is the primary driver of revenue for a portfolio of the NGS products and services. Our portfolio includes a complete offering of NGS solutions, including both standard and custom services for extraction, library preparation, sequencing, and bioinformatics. The qualified candidate will be a technical domain expert in the NGS space and responsible for building and maintaining strong business relationships. As a Senior Sales Specialist, you will generate revenue by ensuring client satisfaction and driving retention, renewals, and expansion of new or existing business. You will also develop and execute strategic account plans, and coordinate with internal teams to deliver solutions that meet the client’s needs.


Responsibilities

  • To perform continuous lead generation, account mapping, and identify decision-making units to sell effectively in a solution-oriented team selling approach.
  • Develop and maintain technical domain expertise. To constantly monitor and assess market dynamics, competitive activities, business risks, and opportunities. Report these findings to the organization and address them through tailored tactical sales plans.
  • Develop and/or expand key customer relationships and implement strategies for expanding the customer base in leading Pharma, Biotech companies and academic centers.
  • Achieve and exceed annual sales goals within the NGS portfolio by developing and successfully executing consultative selling and account management strategies.
  • To organize and conduct capabilities presentations to existing and potential new customers.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of the synthesis portfolio, research customer needs, and identify how our solutions can address those needs.
  • Work cross-functionally with Regional Sales, Technical Support, and Product Management ensuring effective collaboration of resources to deliver on client needs.
  • Work as part of a nimble team and collaborate closely with internal stakeholders with the ultimate goal of bringing value to the customer that leads to revenue growth.


Requirements

  • Confident communication (written and oral) skills and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with key stakeholders of internal and external organizations
  • Must have a valid US driver’s license
  • 5+ years of relevant Genomics experience in a commercial role
  • 2+ years of proven track record in scientific consulting on topics related to NGS, Sanger, cell and gene therapies, and molecular biology lab techniques.
  • Experience logging opportunities, tasks, and events within a CRM (i.e., Salesforce or similar)
  • Demonstrates keen business acumen, sound decision-making, analytical and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment; a consultative approach to managing client relationships
  • Bachelor's Degree required (a Master’s or Ph.D. degree in a Life Sciences related field is strongly preferred)

Working Conditions/ Schedule

  • Willing and able to travel overnight within the United States as required for customer meetings, internal business meetings, seminars, and conferences. (at least 50% of the time)



Pay Range $130-150K Base salary
