Job Description

We are currently seeking a purpose-driven candidate with an ownership mentality to fill an open position as a Senior Research Associate. This position will be located in Rolla, MO.
Summary:
Acts as the technical lead for research and development products in the field of Advanced Packaging, including temporary bonding and debonding solutions and permanent adhesives. Designs and conducts laboratory experiments, analyses, and processes to develop new product offerings.
Responsibilities:
  • Documents work and initiates the submission of new intellectual property, and provides help with IP maintenance
  • Independently leads all aspects of research and development projects, and also leads the transfer through the Brewer Product Development process
  • Keeps up to date on current development needs and looks for alternative approaches to problems
  • Serves as project lead, with guidance from management to drive project management tasks including planning and meeting project deadlines
  • Responsible for communicating with supervisor, team members, and with cross-functional teams
  • Helps set safety and housekeeping standards and monitors how they are practiced in daily activities
  • Presents to customers and at industry forums
  • Improves and teaches lab procedures
  • Provides in-depth data analysis summary for new material testing and product problem solving needs
  • Guides subordinates to complete tasks
  • Keeps up-to-date on best laboratory notebook practices and helps to improve and implement the process
Credentials and Education:
  • PhD preferred or
  • Master’s Degree plus 3 years’ experience or
  • Preferred degrees: chemistry, polymer science, materials science, chemical engineering, or related field.
  • Equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Other Characteristics:
  • Willingness to accept other duties as assigned
  • Ability to travel, and to work overtime as needed
  • Must be able to work with sensitive and highly confidential information
