Job Description

The Senior QA Automation Engineer analyzes requirements to understand the online and mobile banking web applications, develops the testing strategy, plan, approach, scenarios, test cases, test scripts, and performs manual and automated functional testing, performance and load testing for the online and mobile banking web applications. This position works closely with peers, stakeholders and end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction.

Job duties

  • Work with product managers, project managers, and business units to define and prioritize the team backlog to meet deliverables in a fast paced agile/scrum environment
  • Facilitate and lead the team’s daily stand up meetings, sprint planning meetings, demo meetings, release planning meetings, and provide estimate for team backlog items and tasks
  • As a subject matter expert, mentor less experienced QA Engineers on a day to day basis
  • Create and maintain complex system and testing process flow documents to support the full software development lifecycle
  • Participate in performance testing, work with technical groups to tune and optimize programs and processes to meet the SLAs
  • Participate and identify potential gap in solutions and assess them for both technical and business suitability, as part of the production go-live warranty support period and L3 production support of systems during regular and off-hours
  • Lead testing strategy, plan, approach, scenarios, test cases, test scripts, manual and automated functional testing, regression testing, performance and load testing for the online and mobile banking web applications to meet committed deliverables
  • Collaborate with business partners, architect and technical groups to review technical system testing flows
  • Monitor project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions
  • Partner and collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to deliver solutions to meet the business need with quality and within the defined timeline

Essential skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent knowledge in automation testing tools such as Selenium WebDriver for web applications and Appium, Nightwatch.js for mobile applications
  • Excellent skills in developing testing strategy, plan, approach, scenarios, test cases, test scripts, functional testing, regression testing, automation, performance and load testing
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience as a QA engineer, preferably in the financial services industry, including experience with testing strategy, plan, approach, scenarios, test cases, test scripts, manual and automated functional testing, regression testing, and performance and load testing
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience leading complex and large scale online and mobile banking web applications
  • Superb business communication skills; able to write/speak clearly and professionally for a variety of audiences
  • Excellent knowledge with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Software Development Process including Testing, CI/CD processes, understanding functional and technical requirements and creating testing artifacts, and process improvement
  • Ability to work autonomously in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Ability to understand the technical landscape and strategy
  • Experience with various application monitoring tools such as Nagios, Dynatrace, New Relic
  • Expertise in a wide variety of systems integrations with various platforms such as Online Banking, Mobile Banking, Web, Core Banking, Fiserv, CO-OP, FIS, Consumer Lending, Mortgage, Zelle Network, and financial institution specific applications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or other related fields of study; or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 4 years’ online and mobile banking web applications testing experience
  • Strong working knowledge in technologies like XML, XPATH, JSON
  • Excellent knowledge in building automation test scripts using Java, JavaScript and JUnit/ TestNG Frameworks.
  • Excellent knowledge of XSLT, SQL, No SQL, databases, JIRA, Confluence, MS SharePoint, and project management tools
  • Excellent knowledge of software development and testing tools and technologies: Online and Mobile Banking Web Applications, Web Servers (IIS, Apache), Caching, SQL, REST/SOAP API, SoapUI, Postman, HP Quality Center, and WAPT
  • Experience in performance tools such as LoadRunner, and WinRunner.
  • Strong systems/process orientation with demonstrated analytical thinking, organizational skills and problem solving skills

Location: San Jose, CA 95134 (HYBRID)

Target Compensation in San Jose, CA 95134: $125K - $137K annually + annual bonus
