IMPLAN is seeking a Product Manager to lead our Broaden the Audience initiative, focused on expanding our audience and enabling a wider set of personas to leverage IMPLAN Cloud for telling their story, evaluating investment opportunities, measuring ESG initiatives, and communicating with stakeholders.
As Product Manager, you will help guide our product through its lifecycle, shaping the product strategy, and ensuring its fit for our end users. You will work as the nexus between business, design, and technology, collaborating with our departments in Development, Customer Success, Data, Sales, and Marketing to deliver value to our customers through our products. You must possess a unique blend of business, data, and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Gain a deep understanding of markets, customers, and users, improving their experience while driving product growth and adoption.
- Attend tradeshows and events, both as a method of engaging with customers and keeping up with current trends and best practices.
- Organize product launches by working with marketing team, executives, and other product management team members.
- Participate in the design and development of features and functionality for both new and existing data products.
- Partner with the company to develop and implement company-wide go-to-market plans, coordinating with all departments to execute.
- Partner with Data, Product Management, Sales, and Customer Success teams to define product strategy.
- Manage the product life cycle, working iteratively through feedback loops.
- Engage and derive insights from our new target personas both through customer interviews as well as analysis using our product analytics tools.
- Develop product strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to executive management and internal stakeholders.
- Translate product strategy into detailed requirements, use cases, and prototypes.
- Act as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding.
- Create and maintain product roadmaps, scope, and prioritize activities based on business and customer impact.
- Represent the company by engaging customers, users, prospects, and non-customers to solicit feedback on company products and services.
The Ideal Candidate
Candidates who enjoy leveraging data to tell a story would be well suited to this role. You would like collaborating on difficult problems with various members of the organization, thinking critically about the problem and advocating for the user. You would be able to establish a long view of the product, but be able to deliver that in small chunks, gathering feedback and working iteratively to delight end users. You would have strong opinions on the product vision, but have the modesty to accept new perspectives and adapt accordingly. You would work to facilitate our product development, not own or dictate it. You have a special tilt towards data-driven, user journey optimization will be required.
Required Skills & Experience
- Ability to distill opinions from customers, internal stakeholders, and the market to prioritize product initiatives and requirements to meet IMPLAN’s growth goals.
- Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams.
- Critical thinking, problem solving, and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done.
- Ability to travel (<10% expected)
- Remain flexible and be able to adapt to the changing business environment.
- Demonstrable understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies.
- Relevant working experience in product management, engineering, business analysis, development, and/or data science/engineering.
- Possesses ability to interact well with internal and external customers. A good attitude and interpersonal skills are a must.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and databases.
- 3-7 years of software product management experience (B2B preferred).
- Experience informing product strategy using product analytics tools (anchored be Pendo)
- A complete understanding of SaaS metrics.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum SDLC.
- Experience in working with product analytics tools and using the results to increase user engagement.
