Detailed Position Description
Works closely with Wexner Center for the Arts Head of Performing Arts to manage, supervise, and administrate contemporary multi-disciplinary performing arts program presenting regional, national, and international dance, music, theater, and interdisciplinary forms:

Ensures the success of current performing arts season serving as line producer, event manager, and on-site liaison with artists and artists' management, performing arts and WCA staff in handling all event logistics, provides updates of program events, itineraries, and activities; collaborates with Head of Performing Arts and Associate Producer on the presentation of musical programming; trains, delegates to and supervises Associate Producer and related support staff (including front of house, back of house, ticket office, volunteers) involved in realizing performing arts events; manages and supervises educational activities planned in association with program including coordination with academic units, faculty, university programs and different communities in Columbus and the region; leads budget management, budget tracking and regular budget reconciliation processes; initiates contract processing with artists and outside venues utilizing university's contract management portal system and monitors contract and payment processes; assists with grant reporting and preparing grant proposals in coordination with Development staff; monitors needs of funded programs and assists with final reports; coordinates visa processing for international artists; travels to national and regional professionals meetings and represents the program among peer organizations and engages in the issues of the field to further our involvement in national issues; coordinates touring processes with national and international peer organizations including related issues of international payment guidelines and visa application issues; and other duties as assigned.

Duties Description

50% Producing: ensures the success of current performing arts season serving as line producer, event manager, and on-site liaison with artists and artists' management, performing arts and WCA staff in handling all event logistics; provides updates of program events, itineraries, and activities; collaborates with Head of Performing Arts and Associate Producer on the presentation of musical programming; trains, delegates to and supervises Associate Producer and related support staff (including front of house, back of house, ticket office, volunteers) involved in realizing performing arts events; initiates contract processing with artists and outside venues utilizing university's contract management portal system and monitors contract and payment processes; coordinates visa processing for international artists; and coordinates touring processes with national and international peer organizations including related issues of international payment guidelines and visa application issues

25% Finance: leads budget management, budget tracking and regular budget reconciliation processes;

15% Outreach: Manages and supervises educational activities planned in association with program including coordination with academic units, faculty, university programs and different communities in Columbus and the region.

10% Other Duties: assists with grant reporting and preparing grant proposals in coordination with Development staff; monitors needs of funded programs and assists with final reports; travels to national and regional professionals meetings and represents the program among peer organizations and engages in the issues of the field to further our involvement in national issues; and other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Required:
4+ years of direct experience in management and administration of performing arts programs and demonstrated commitment to professional development in this field; knowledge of contemporary performance, media, visual arts and arts education; general experience with accounting and finance processes; experience with current Word and Excel, online grant processes, payment processes and tax issues for international artists and visa application processes; effective writing and public speaking skills.


Desired:
Experience with Workday and University budget monitoring processes.

Use of personal vehicle may be required (mileage reimbursed); work hours vary and include evenings, weekends, and possible holidays.
Successful completion of background check prior to start date required.
