Job Description
Responsibilities:
Peraton is currently seeking an Sr Operations Research Analyst to conduct mobility modeling and simulation with a focus on fuel/energy, to ensure energy considerations are sufficiently included in all projects in the Virtual Warfare Center (VWC) located at Scott AFB, and in all AMC/A9 support to Title X wargaming. This position will formulate and produce comprehensive end-to-end analysis of mobility capabilities and requirements using US Transportation Command approved suite of Modeling, Simulation and Optimization (MS&O) tools.

As an ORSA, you will:
  • Devise modeling and measuring techniques; utilizes mathematics, statistical methods, engineering methods, operational mathematics techniques (linear programming, game theory, probability theory, symbolic language, etc.), and other principles and laws of scientific and economic disciplines.
  • Provide analytic and model expertise to select data sources and incorporate data with modeling to provide replication of real-world model outputs for programmatic analysis to include such support as analytic support to command and DOD for JDDE mobility assessments in preparation of DOD scenarios.
  • Analyze actual and predictable interacting operational activities of business to obtain a quantitative, rational basis for decision making through the application of logic and scientific or economic disciplines and techniques.
Key Responsibilities will include:
  • Modify baseline models to include fuel/energy considerations such as: infrastructure, consumption, supply, and efficiency.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks with competing timelines and deliverables.
  • Provide coordination between SAF/IEN and AMC/A9 and synchronize SAF/IEN equities with the VWC’s overall mission of supporting the AMC Commander’s “winning scheme of maneuver.”
  • Produce papers, reports and briefings describing the study formulation, mobility demand signals and modeling and simulation insights.
  • Mission planning, modeling, and simulation expertise will be leveraged to ensure proposed concepts of operations and material alternatives address SAF/IEN initiatives in areas such as Air Refueling (including Air Refueling Model: ARM), Airlift (including Analysis of Mobility Platform: AMP), theater energy distribution (including AMP), and logistics under attack (including Command Professional Edition).
  • Support the Analysis of Mobility Platform (AMP) Setup Team (ASUT) with model setups to represent various Operational Plan (OPLAN) demand signals and Concept of Operations.
  • Gather data from variety of sources and conduct efficient data analysis of modeling and simulation results.
  • Have strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated analytical, quantitative reasoning, mathematical and problem-solving skills.
  • BS 8-10, MS 6-8, PhD 3-5.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Science, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Business or similar fields OR a Masters degree.
  • Demonstrated experience in working in a team environment with frequent customer contact and have excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • U.S. citizenship required. Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active DoD Secret clearance.
