Job Description
Purpose & Overall Relevance For The Organization
The Sr. Manager Storytelling drives the development of an integrated, through-the-line, marketing communications package to support adidas’ global and specific BU marketing and business objectives.
  • Ability to move with speed via partner asks but also within confines of the adidas brand mission and morals & partnership positioning framework
  • Day to day, this position will guide and be the voice of all marketing and go to market plans to support launches or moments with on time in full execution both internally and to the consumer
  • Ability to motivate and sell-in plans / ideas and work to both the partner and internal leadership – passion, planning and professional
  • Internally, this position will partner alongside the cross-functional product managers and merchandising teams to create cohesive and consistent go to market plans, inclusive of marketing and communication plans
  • Create continuous cadence of transparency with key internal stakeholders to ensure pro-active approach is felt within a large organization
  • Managing and controlling all budget related to this partnership on a yearly basis
  • Grow and lead a team of highly motivated individuals during a challenging business / macro economic environment
  • Ideate post-campaign evaluation performance by conducting or coordinating research and tracking project development, collating results into regular quality reports.
  • Will show up at key internal milestones to provide transparency on where this partnership is heading multiple times yearly
  • Ideate comprehensive action plans for all BU communications projects with the aim to maximize brand and partners visions with (new) product exposure while maximizing efficiencies.
  • While responsible end to end for all marketing plans – inclusive of strategy / objectives / social / retail / digital / apps / events / key cities / seeding / and more – this team will interface with key market comms leads to bring these plans to life and with approval via partner / team
  • 100% partner facing – majority with the collaborator and their team team on the daily basis (this team is based in LA / Asia)
  • Select and steer global and local agencies across projects and activities for the business unit: agency briefing process on go-to market plans / tactics / media prior to content shoots
  • This position will work hand in hand with local marketing teams to drive execution of plans and facilitate conversations around local budgets to extend plans
  • Responsible for on-boarding an agency that works consistently on this partnership
  • Create and manage an operational model on how we execute and deliver marketing in-full, on-time and within budget across all functional partners (markets / social / retail / digital / PR)
  • Envision communication opportunities, with elongated plans and planning as well as opportunities that came from the partner last minute to help execute within adidas strategy

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
  • Academic and professional deep understanding of an ever-changing marketing landscape and advanced experience in project management systematic, methodologies and tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills and managerial level of strategic thinking
  • Broad understanding of and passion for the sports and fashion/entertainment industry.
  • Remain highly professional and level-headed in chaotic and last minute scenarios
  • Up to date on streetwear overall – music, life, activities to jump in very quickly
  • Very strong presentation skills to articulate complex ideas and plans
  • Keen understanding on the Greater China and Asia Pacific markets – including trends, media, social landscape
  • Senior experience in marketing communications and partner / collab level marketing, campaign development and execution.
  • Ability to collaborate and manage platforms and tools used by multiple functions as well as ability to manage and / or collaborate with internal and external cross-functional groups: product marketing, communications, social, digital.
  • Remain up-to-date on the fast developing Media Environment in general and New Media technologies and opportunities in particular.
  • Partner management skills, influence, and build strong relations with the partnership team
  • Ability to navigate conversations with a high-level external partner and partner team
  • Be able to motivate and rally teams to bring plans to life
  • Must be action-oriented and thing with big ideas, not traditional marketing (aka organic vs paid)

Requisite Education And Experience / Minimum Qualifications
  • 8+ years’ industry and / or relevant work experience.

  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, Retail, Digital or a related field.

  • We officially returned to office in a hybrid work environment, working 3 days in office and 2 days remote. The working location of this position is Portland, Oregon.
