Job Description
Job Title: Senior Manager, Research Market Data Analyst
Reports To: Director of Research and Education
Positions Directly Supervised: Research Associate

Job Function:
The Sr. Manager of Research Market Data Analyst will be responsible for uncovering insights to support the advancement and understanding of amateur football. This position is responsible for partnering with leadership across USA Football business functions to understand the key challenges and opportunities and apply appropriate research methodologies to uncover insights to address those challenges and turn insights into recommendations to help advance our brand and sport. This position will also play a critical role in our organizational data governance processes to ensure our business data is reliable, accessible and usable.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Monitor the daily activities and support the growth of the research staff.
  • Develop and execute the strategic research agenda and build out execution plans.
  • Co-lead strategic planning for research division
  • Drafts questionnaires, polls, surveys, and other data collection resources & tools.
  • Researches and compiles data related to current product market, customer demographics and interest, and factors influencing product demand; analyzes results to identify ways of maximizing sales and market penetration of current products and initiatives.
  • Compiles data related to competitors’ products and initiatives such as pricing, sales, and marketing or distribution methodology.
  • Work closely with the Data Architect to identify and pursue new data needs for the organization.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis as necessary
  • Support the internal governance working group focused on business data enhancement
  • Document and publish data dictionaries and table designs to facilitate data adoption and use
  • Activity monitor business dashboards and discuss implications with the Data Architect and the USA Football Leadership
  • Ensure the organizations data is accessible and reliable
    • Advise on data quality checks for source and target data sets
    • Perform data audits for key programs
    • Document and publish data dictionaries and table designs to facilitate data adoption and use
    • Develop and maintain dashboards/reports using PowerBI or other data visualization tools
    • Activity monitor business dashboards and discuss implications with the Data Architect and the USA Football Leadership
    • Coach and mentor staff members on the use of and support enhancements of their dashboards and other research and data outputs and results
    • Support the internal governance working group focused on business data enhancement
    • Perform ad hoc analysis as necessary
  • Develop and maintain dashboards/reports using PowerBI or other data visualization tools
  • Advise on data quality checks for source and target data sets
  • Perform data audits for key programs
  • Coach and mentor staff members on the use of and support enhancements of their dashboards and other research and data outputs and results
  • Program, test, maintain, and update data entry applications for manual data entry or electronic data capture.
  • Support and advise USA Football committees and councils on research activities and discovery.
  • Collaborate with internal and external research experts to identify, select, and execute the most appropriate research methodology and techniques to support discoveries and subsequent analysis of the marketplace as well as USA Football products, initiatives and user profiles and trends.
  • Formulate analysis and reporting plans and deliver final presentations to internal and external audiences.
  • Conduct in-depth data analyses using traditional and advanced methods.
  • Clearly articulate research findings, insights, and provide business recommendations.
  • Compile and analyze information on products and market conditions to identify potential new markets, sales opportunities, and the most effective methods of marketing specified products/programs, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with cross-functional teamwork
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience in conducting and analyzing research programs/projects
  • Demonstrated ability to understand changing market dynamics and translate them into short- and long-term courses of business action
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to elevate thinking and apply judgment during analysis about how components fit together and with the bigger picture
  • Experience using Tableau, Power BI or other data visualization tools/software
  • Experience with data management
  • Ability to work independently and manage various responsibilities
  • Excellent quantitative, analytical, and written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work well with diverse groups of individuals
  • Knowledge and understanding of youth sports, the role of NGBs and USA Football's mission and function
  • Open to some travel to events or research sites
Work Environment
This job operates in a remote environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
Physical Demands
Requires the ability to sit for more than four hours per day, reading, listening, stooping, bending, and manual dexterity.
