Procurement Operations Senior Manager

The Procurement Operations Sr. Manager is a fundamental role in Flagship Pioneering’s growing Procurement department. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and leading the operational activities that will enable Flagship’s procurement strategy and roadmap. They will lead the rationalization of tail spend across all procurement categories, drive procurement process efficiencies, develop and manage the supplier engagement process, and lead procurement’s internal and external branding efforts.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Sourcing:

• Leverage spend data to identify tail spend rationalization initiatives
• Drive the RFP processes from start to finish and ensuring the integrity of the supplier selection process is intact, ensuring compliance with Flagship’s procurement policy and legal contracting requirements
• Collaborate with Flagship end-users and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and specifications for goods and services

Data management:

• Establish and maintain a centralized repository for procurement data, including supplier information, pricing, contracts, and performance metrics
• Develop performance analytics and reports for the procurement function as well as supplier key offerings and KPI’s
• Develop and implement a supplier engagement strategy
• Collect and manage procurement activity metrics across the Flagship ecosystem of companies

Enterprise support:

• Drive engagement with other Flagship support functions (e.g., Contracts, Legal, Finance, Communications, IT)
• Develop and execute strategies to enhance the internal perception of the procurement department as a strategic partner within the organization
• Organize workshops, training sessions, and presentations to educate internal stakeholders about procurement processes, best practices, and benefits
• Drive Procurement branding both internally and externally, including development and management of the Procurement website
• Educate the Flagship ecosystem companies on the Flagship Procurement function and create a pipeline of opportunities for collaboration

Basic Qualifications:

• Proficiency in data analysis or statistics
• Comfortable and professional when interacting with people across the organization
• High proficiency with Excel, skilled in Microsoft Office Suite
• Proven history of managing multiple sourcing projects simultaneously
• Critical thinking and able to identify complex issues and solutions, anticipate questions, provide practical solutions, and offer insightful direction
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to gather and analyze data to show trends and provide proper recommendations/solutions
• Demonstrate independent critical analysis capability and comfort working with ambiguity
• 5+ years of relevant experience in Procurement or Strategic Sourcing
• Bachelor’s degreein business, economics, technology, finance, engineering, or supply chain management
• Proactive approach to daily tasks and projects
