Senior Manager, Central Planning & Optimization


This is a newly created role in the North America Planning and Logistics team focus ing on network and inventory optimization. You, and the team you build, will work on the most critical enterprise projects including footprint changes, inventory strategy, production moves, and long-term demand vs supply balances . The nature of these projects will offer opportunities for interaction and partnership with the executive leadership team. The strategy set by this role will drive business success for years to come.


Responsibilities


  • Partner with other modeling resources to support a matrixed organization and flexible support model.
  • Execute project responsibilities, including data collection, analysis, documentation, presentation, status updates, and other relevant communication.
  • D evelop and document best practices for modeling standards that help ensure consistency across network modeling activities.
  • Optimize the end-to-end global network strategy from manufacturing to assembly to the final mile to minimize cost while delivering the best customer experience possible.
  • Process to establish a complete view of the organization's supply chain that replicates the supply chain (digital twin) with appropriate formulas that emulate actual transactions and transformations.
  • Use of advanced mathematical and analytical supply chain network software to evaluate alternatives and determine optimal solutions.
  • Partner with FP&A and Supply Chain leaders to drive the budgeting process and understand and explain drivers of variance to forecast ed costs & inventory to leadership.
  • Process to synchronize production, storage, and transport with demand and the coordination of these elements helps maximize efficiency, cut costs, and support profitability.
  • Build the cases for s upply chain cost-saving opportunities and develop mechanisms to track savings, cost , and service metrics impacted by these projects.
  • P rovide coaching to analysts in support of specific projects as well as broader development and performance management.
  • Partner with Supply Chain Analytics, Logistics and Distribution, Supply Chain Planning, and Finance to regularly distill trends in the business and key metrics.
  • Maintain communication routines with broader project management stakeholders, including Steering Teams and other stakeholders regarding project outputs, methodologies, scenario or constraint definitions, status, and prioritization.
  • Evaluate different aspects of the supply chain and identify ways to optimize processes and reduce supply chain costs.
  • Support the mid-term process that uses demand forecasts to inform production, distribution, and warehousing decisions.
  • Partner with manufacturing, logistics, and operations teams to develop the long-term (2+ years ) and intermediate-term (12-24 months ) strategy for Hunter Douglas’s physical space requirements and locations.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience


  • Bachelor’s Degree in supply chain management , engineering, operations research, or related experience equivalent
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at once; experience leading projects with cross-functional team members in a high-complexity environment .
  • Collaborative style, willing to work in cross-functional teams and experience influencing outside of reporting structures.
  • Ability to travel as needed to understand supply chain processes (including manufacturing) through first-hand observation.
  • Minimum 5 years ’ experience in Supply Chain Analytics or Optimization
  • Analytical experience, including specific experience with Supply Chain Network Modeling, BI tools, visualization, relational data structures, and financial modeling.
  • Understanding of SAP ERP System data structures, Supply Chain data, and related transactional processes
  • Ability to work with large amounts of data and fluent in data manipulation and other analytical techniques, including display and visualization.
  • Experience running supply chain network models and modeling projects, with expertise in network modeling and solver applications like Coupa / Llamasoft , AnyLogistics , or similar software . Experience should include familiarity with digital twin modeling and a solid understanding of cost structures, product and location representation or aggregation, and associated modeling techniques.
  • Excellent verbal (presentation) and written communication skills
  • Strong supply chain experience and understanding of Supply Chain operating models.

Hiring Range: $136-179 k + 30-45 % Discretionary Bonus
