The following is a description of a Graphic Designer in our regional Marketing department.

If you are mapping out the next phase of your design career and seeking creative opportunities with an entrepreneurial spirit, join Kimley-Horn’s Design team in Warrenville, IL. Our Graphic Designers work independently, partnering with Junior Designers and other Marketing professionals to understand and translate the client’s vision and design a variety of deliverables in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Responsibilities:
  • Design digital campaigns for external recognition/pursuits
  • Create presentations, aerial map exhibits, and multimedia graphics
  • Create tailored, print and digital brochures as well as conference/event graphics
  • Partner with engineers, project managers, and technical staff
  • Teach, mentor and grow junior Marketing teammates
  • Develop graphic covers, templates, layouts, and supporting graphics for marketing pursuits
  • Thrive as part of a large, creative, and specialized marketing team
  • Serve as a brand advocate for Kimley-Horn and the client’s visual guidelines

Qualifications:
  • BA/BS in Graphic Design or similar
  • A positive, collaborative, solution-seeking attitude, and a high sense of personal responsibility
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle simultaneous, varied assignments while providing consistent quality and accuracy
  • Desire to learn new skills, manage tasks and teams, participate in process improvement
  • Ability to use InDesign software for layout of complex documents
  • Flexibility to periodically work outside normal business hours as needed
  • Proficiency in Adobe CC (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat) and Microsoft Office Suite (Kimley-Horn is a PC-based company)
  • 8 or more years of corporate and/or agency experience
  • Have a willingess and desire to teach and mentor others
  • Willingness to travel in support of remote projects and teams

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with video filming/editing (Adobe Premiere) and/or motion graphics (Adobe After Effects)
  • Web design experience – WordPress preferred with HTML / CSS knowledge
  • Experience with 3D visualization software
