Job Description

The Graphic Designer will create great packaging graphics that meet the intended Cheryl’s Cookies brand vision in a consistent and timely manner. This role will have the authority to design and illustrate creative graphics that are strategic and meet Cheryl’s Cookies brand needs, as well as identify and recommend purchases of graphic needs.



Responsibilities

  • Maintain proper file organization on the server of all artwork files created for assigned projects
  • Develop tools that can improve communication and current processes
  • Develop on-going insight into product branding
  • Actively research competitors as well as do in-store walks to gather data.
  • Use time appropriately, both in office and when working remotely
  • Create clean workable files that can easily be picked up by production team
  • Build and maintain working relationships with co-workers and outside contacts
  • Create packaging graphics that maintain and elevate the Cheryl’s Cookies brand
  • Confirm deadlines and time expectations of all assigned projects and manage priorities accordingly
  • Maintain organization and upkeep of graphics files on servers
  • Maintain constant communication with Cheryl’s merchant team both locally and off site via teams, email and occasional travel to Ohio
  • Partner with Senior Creative Director on responding to larger department and corporate initiatives
  • Follow up on projects and communicate any issues preventing completion
  • Meet challenges with different design styles
  • Execute all projects on time following departmental protocols for proper file preparation as outlined in the Graphics Manual
  • Work with merchant team to ensure all artwork meets or exceeds expectation
  • Develop strong verbal/visual skills including ability to participate in productive brainstorms


Qualifications

  • Proficient in Mac platform, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Microsoft office
  • Bachelor's Degree in Design or Visual Communications area of study
  • Illustration skills a plus
  • 2-5 years of experience working in graphic design, consumer packaging
  • Highly creative with a passion for good consumer packaging (preferably in the Food Industry), deadline-oriented, and able to produce high volumes of work under intense timelines
