Description

The Sr. Global Logistics Analyst facilitates and expedites the flow of shipments to and from various offshore sources to customer locations. Handles all communication with logistics service providers (LSP) and ensures customer expectations and services are performed timely. Leads monthly and weekly product delivery planning with distribution center management. Works with TBC Customers to deliver flawless execution and excellent customer service. Conducts herself/himself professionally and demonstrates self confidence in performing the job.

Job Responsibilities

  • Regularly consult with suppliers, carriers and/or DC field support personnel to build and maintain optimal process flow.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to management of all import transactions to the U.S., Canada, and Mexico
  • Plan and work with LSP to coordinate deliveries for TBC Customer direct shipments, as needed
  • Primary point of contact for all inbound receipts from carriers and for scheduling, shipping and receiving appointments.
  • Establish and create carrier relationships and partnerships at national port and rail heads. Build key relationships with both drayage providers and customers to ensure TBC Global Logistics is seen as best-in-class service provider.
  • Respond timely to email enquiries regarding international logistics
  • Provide effective communication, problem resolution and customer satisfaction
  • Create, develop, lead and select carrier participants for annual Request for Proposals for Drayage operations.
  • Review drayage invoices for approvals (subject to $3500 max/invoice approval) or rejections, approve and maintain rate sheets by providers
  • Fully knowledgeable of all operational aspects of TBC Drayage Operations and how the workflow is set up to be as efficient as possible; brings suggestions how to automate and improve processes.
  • Process and file carrier claims, as needed
  • Leverage current container tracking capabilities to ensure TBC can avoid/mitigate all detention, demurrage, per diem, storage, etc.; Comes up with unique and effective solutions to eliminate these costs.
  • Maintaining and updating rate schedules, cost sheets, and other drayage administrative functions, as needed
  • Compile LSP performance reporting and coordinate corrective actions with reporting
  • Study trends, history reports, and analyze work samples to determine areas to eliminate redundancies and other areas of improvement.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-4 years logistics/transportation experience or related industry
  • Recognize & work to understand challenges or underlying concerns, troubleshoot, & develop effective responses or escalate for resolution with recommendations as appropriate
  • Someone who understands the importance of flawless execution, with an appetite for detail and follow up
  • Strong understanding of rate reconciliation for drayage shipments; ability to understand accessorial and importance of time sensitive resolution.
  • Someone with the ability to integrate technology with business processes for productivity/service gains
  • Strong information seeking skills – Curiosity
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, International Trade, or related field
  • Strong understanding of how Import Customs process works related to freight/cargo releases, pickup numbers, clearance procedures, Rail/CY operations, etc.
  • Financially savvy to ensure carriers are invoicing based on quoted services. Act as decision maker to approve/reject invoices.
  • Strong verbal & written communications skills including reporting, meeting facilitation, & presentations
  • Strong business and communication skills
  • A cross-functional team player with interpersonal skills needed to influence, negotiate, and resolve conflict productively.
