Description

Mott MacDonald seeks a skilled and motivated Senior Geospatial Analyst with 10+ years of experience, for our Lakewood, CO office. The primary duties of this individual will include technical development, project reviews, troubleshooting, planning, directing, and monitoring a high degree of complex GIS activities within the Lakewood Office pertaining to an existing long-term project.

Primary responsibilities include:
  • Become the task leader for a complex field data collection workflow using Survey123 and ArcGIS Online. Work independently to ensure the workflow is meeting the needs of the project and coordinate the necessary changes as that project needs evolve.
  • Maintain ancillary workflows including MS Power Automate integrations, regular data backups, scripted processes, and integrations with external databases.
  • Engage in business development opportunities to provide marketing support for regional and national opportunities. Aid in developing client relationships throughout the region.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship for GIS team members locally and throughout the organization. Has the ability to manage a team and manage a team’s productivity.
  • Conduct internal coordination meetings and provide substantial support for client meetings.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of federal guidelines pertaining to the Lead and Copper Rule Revisions (LCRR) and its application.
  • Responsible to ensure quality products are developed and submitted. Ensure adherence to the company’s commitment to quality and the QAQC process.
  • Provide direction to support staff while developing and managing production and coordination on multiple projects simultaneously. Ensure projects are completed on budget and on time.
  • Participate in monthly staffing and scheduling forecasts. Assist project management in preparing annual scope and budget.
  • Oversee regular data reporting (monthly, semi-annual, and ad-hoc).
  • Participate in scheduled and ad-hoc training activities for field staff by leading training sessions. Maintain training materials including user guidance manuals and presentation materials.
  • Maintain all aspects of the field data collection workflow including complex Survey123 forms, multiple forms writing to the same dataset, QC processes, field collection datasets, and reference datasets, and administer ArcGIS online deployment including field maps, groups, and users.
  • Oversee QC process and lead a small team of data analysts carrying out daily QC duties. Assist QC Lead with resolving complex data issues, monitoring data for emerging data quality trends, and engaging the project team to identify and resolve the root cause.

Candidate Specification

We welcome applications from candidates with the following core competencies and characteristics:
  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 10 years of experience with GIS-based data collection projects using the Esri suite.
  • GISP certification
  • Be able to work independently with minimal supervision and apply previous instructions to current tasks. The ability to track and follow up on action items is critical.
  • Possess excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Understanding of relational databases. Experience with SQL and database platforms such as MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.
  • Have a passion for GIS and keep abreast of current industry trends and apply them to existing projects.
  • Advanced Survey123, XLSForm, Arcade, and ArcGIS online experience is a hard requirement.
  • Be outgoing, forward-thinking, and an effective communicator.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, etc.
  • Demonstrable competence with ESRI Suite: ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Desktop, Field Maps, REST-based services, etc.
  • Must be very well organized, detail-oriented, and possess strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to grasp complex data relationships and visualize how data changes will impact downstream workflows.
Salary Range: $74K - $140K
