The Sr. Director of Marketing is a leader who takes responsibility for the overall marketing results of the company. The primary objectives are to develop and execute marketing strategies that drive brand awareness, increase customer acquisition and retention, and generate revenue growth. This role will oversee a team of marketing professionals and work closely with other departments for carrying out the company’s goals which include expanding into new markets, launching new products or services and building stronger relationships with customers. The Sr. Director of Marketing plays a critical role in achieving the company’s business objectives by driving growth and maximizing the impact of all marketing efforts.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Plan, develop and execute marketing plans that align with company goals and drive revenue growth.
  • Manage the company's brand and ensure consistency across all marketing channels.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key industry partners and influencers.
  • Enhance and strengthen the company's brand image and reputation through strategic and effective publicity initiatives.
  • Analyze marketing data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and optimize marketing efforts.
  • Oversee the creation of marketing materials such as product collateral, email campaigns, social media content, and advertising.
  • Lead market research efforts to identify customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscapes.
  • Work closely with sales teams to develop sales enablement materials that align with marketing initiatives.
Tools and Reporting Responsibilities:
  • Provide regular reports on marketing initiatives, KPI performance, and projected outcomes to senior leadership.
  • Evaluate competitors and market trends to identify areas for improvement and insights.
  • Utilize various marketing tools and software to execute marketing initiatives, including marketing automation platforms, content management systems, and analytics software.
  • Collaborate with departments and business units through marketing plans, including sales projections, product development timelines, and customer success metrics, to ensure alignment and maximize impact.
Decision Making Authority:
  • Hire and develop a marketing team, set goals, and define performance metrics.
  • Manage the company’s reputation through public relations and crisis management.
  • Evaluate and allocate resources and personnel within the marketing department.
  • Make strategic decisions on marketing campaigns and initiatives based on data and analysis.
  • Allocate the marketing budget for all departments/business units across multiple channels and resources for greatest return and effectiveness.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in marketing.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Understanding of marketing automation platforms, content management systems, and analytics software.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team of marketing professionals.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to analyze marketing data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and optimize marketing efforts.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies that drive revenue growth and brand awareness.
Education and/or Experience:
  • Experience with digital marketing and marketing automation platforms.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred. Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience managing a team of marketing professionals and developing marketing talent.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Insurance/Franchise marketing experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of marketing experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth and brand awareness through successful marketing strategies.
  • Experience in a high-growth or start-up environment is preferred.
  • Experience with marketing design software.
  • Understanding of B2B and B2C marketing in a complex sales environment is preferred.
Work Environment:
  • This job operates remotely and requires 10% travel.
  • This job operates in an office environment.
Physical Requirements:
  • The ability to stand for long periods of time (4-6 hours) for events/conventions and lift/set up promotional items and displays (up to 20 lbs.).
  • The ability to lift and carry office equipment, such as a laptop, briefcase, or documents, weighing up to 10 pounds.
  • The ability to sit and work at a desk for extended periods.
  • The ability to use a computer, phone, and other office equipment.
