General Purpose of the Job: Signature Aviation is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Director of Communications to lead and manage all global communication activities for our company. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing communication strategies that promote and protect the company's brand and reputation, both internally and externally. As the Senior Director of Communications, you will lead a team of communication professionals and work closely with other departments to ensure alignment with company objectives and goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee the implementation of internal communication plans that ensure consistent messaging and employee engagement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including media, industry partners, and customers.
- Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies that support the company's objectives and goals.
- Provide strategic communication counsel to the executive team and other departments.
- Develop and manage communication budgets, including agency and vendor relationships.
- Oversee the development of communication materials, including press releases, speeches, presentations, and other collateral.
- Manage a team of communication professionals and oversee their day-to-day activities.
- Develop and execute media relations plans to generate positive coverage and manage crisis situations effectively.
- Develop and oversee the implementation of social media and digital communication strategies.
Minimum Education and/or Experience:
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or related field, preferably within the aviation industry.
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Experience managing budgets and working with vendors and agencies.
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing comprehensive communication strategies.
- Proven track record of successful media relations and crisis management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong understanding of social media and digital communication strategies.
Additional knowledge and skills:
- Highly self-sufficient and able to effectively influence all levels of project participants
- Comfortable in highly dynamic, fast-paced, and frequently ambiguous environment
- Knowledge of project management and change management principles and methodologies
- Promotes teamwork to achieve the organization/program mission; win as a team
