Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

The Engagement Strategist is an integral part of the Strategy and Insights team at Snow Companies and reports to the Director, Engagement Strategy. This team drives the development and implementation of new offerings for Snow’s clients. The Engagement Strategist must be able to exercise independent judgment, process complicated situations quickly with discernment, work on and complete multiple tasks simultaneously, and identify issues to then implement solutions in a fast-paced environment. The Engagement Strategist must be up to date and comfortable with changes in technology, social media platforms, program management tools, and media production tools in photo and video editing.

The Engagement Strategist will collaborate effectively with both internal and external parties, including clients, company partners, and various vendors. The Engagement Strategist must consider both the patient and caregiver perspective, along with biotech and pharmaceutical needs, and then be able to make observations and decisions based on those needs and industry trends.

Snow’s business is centered around the patient journey. The Engagement Strategist, like all positions at Snow, must be open, compassionate, and sensitive to the unique life experiences of these patients and caregivers. The Engagement Strategist must be able to incorporate the unique patient/caregiver experience into the strategies and solutions we provide to our clients.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Engagement Strategist must be able to perform the following essential duties and functions:

General Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute promotions, research, and other client projects and demonstrating completeness of work with limited supervisor review
  • Understand and implement standard processes for Snow’s services offered related to strategy, insight, and in support of various client requests
  • Demonstrate strong communication and organization
  • Coordinate and translate the clients’ objectives into strategic communications and insights for client-facing projects
  • Participate in planning, facilitating, executing, taking notes and reporting on qualitative and/or quantitative market research, such as 1-on-1 interviews, focus groups, and surveys including user experience workshops
  • Provide internal and external performance measurement reporting and/or research findings to Account Teams, clients, VPs, and C-level executives
  • Attend regular check-ins with the Strategy Directors and teammates and take diligent notes, demonstrating an understanding of actions after meetings
  • Collaborate on projects with other internal and external stakeholders by brainstorming, creating content (video and imagery), and presenting findings
  • Stay updated with any legal changes or shifts in the healthcare or digital advertising industries as well as any changes to social media or digital platform policy and functionality. As requested, research best practices for social engagement and promotions in pharmaceuticals
  • Demonstrate thought leadership and write pieces for internal and external consumption based on new trends of change in the regulatory environment that affect patient engagement
  • Help create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture
  • Plan, implement, and maintain social media targeted media buys
  • Evaluate SEO for existing sites and create plans for new SEO projects
  • Support the creation of social media content, from concept creation to launch, and all the steps in between

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Document SOWs, invoices, and project tracking for all client work
  • Prepare reports and analyses of industry trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions
  • Report on monthly performance measures for digital properties

Weekend and Night Work:

Although your day-to-day work should primarily take place during regular office hours, there will be occasions when you are required to work late into the evening and/or over the weekend. Candidates selected for the Senior Engagement Strategist position should have the expectation that the workload and nature of the work will require hours that may extend past the business hours of the company (8:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m., Monday-Friday). This includes working on the weekends.

Snow’s business is driven by the needs of the clients we serve. Both the volume of work and the nature of work requests are subject to change. Flexibility in work schedules and the ability to take on new tasks and projects as requested by our clients are required by candidates.

The size and nature of our company will require that you work in collaboration with other team members. Candidates must demonstrate their willingness/ability to step into other roles

as needed to drive the success of the company. Candidates will need to demonstrate their ability to be contributing members of a team that has goals that are broader than an individual job description or function.

Language Skills/Communication:
Candidate must have the ability to read and comprehend general documents relating to the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry that include but are not limited to medical education, medical periodicals, clinical trial data, package inserts, medical procedures, industry regulations, and reimbursement/tax guidelines. Candidates must have the ability to prepare and present business reports and correspondence. Candidates will have demonstrated their ability to effectively and professionally communicate with managers, co-workers, clients, agency partners, Ambassadors, and the general public. Working with patients requires the candidate to exercise discretion and empathy as patients are living with chronic conditions. Fluency in a foreign language is a plus.

Travel:
Travel is a fundamental part of the Senior Engagement Strategist position. From time to time, it may be necessary to travel to support the team/complete the job tasks. Candidates must be able to accommodate the specific travel requirements of their role.

Travel will include, but is not limited to:

  • Traveling to event locations to provide support/direction
  • Traveling to shoot locations to provide support/direction
  • Traveling to client/partner locations to support meetings

Patient Privacy:

The core of our business is working with patients, caregivers, and advocacy groups. There is a chance you will come in contact with the Personal Health Information (PHI) of patients living with chronic illness. The Candidate will be required to successfully complete and adhere to training courses that include, but are not limited to:

  • Privacy and Data Security Training
  • Adverse Event (AE) Reporting Training
  • The promotional requirements for pharmaceuticals under the FDA and FTC
  • Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Training
  • Snow Policy Training

Computer Skills:

Candidate must have excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment to include:

Mathematical Skills:

Candidates will have the ability to comprehend and utilize basic mathematics as well as business statistics including percentages, ratios, discounts, interest, commissions, and proportions.

Reasoning Ability:

Candidates will have the ability to identify and define problems while applying effective problem-solving skills through collecting data, establishing facts, drawing valid conclusions, and providing recommendations to leadership. Candidates will have the ability to deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Candidates will have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Candidates will be capable of applying industry benchmarks to recommend standardized practices.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Master’s degree preferred but not required.
