Key Responsibilities
The Sr. Designer – Creative Strategy and Branding role will directly support and collaborate with the Art Directors and Creative Leadership. They are a natural visual problem solver, ready to expand and translate the brand vision and strategy into innovative and impressive campaigns that stimulate and impact targeted audiences. The ideal candidate should have solid problem-solving abilities and see each project as a unique challenge to create the best work. They should be capable of leading the creative aspects of a project and demonstrate strong eye for business in addition to being able to work under minimal supervision.
  • Complete design and production of print layouts and graphic design
  • Acts as client creative contact point in partnership with manager, coordinating all creative activities
  • Create design documentation and guidelines
  • Assists in delegating responsibilities to designers and provide direction
  • Train design resources when needed
  • Responsible for all design stages from sketches, to concept, to final production hand-off
  • Create and present storyboards of ideas to the design team
  • Adheres and upholds United’s brand
  • Serves as a thought partner on projects with Project and Production Managers to outline client objectives, budgeting and timelines
  • Coordinates and monitors efforts of internal and external production resources to deliver designs
  • Assists with monitoring and communicating updates to these guidelines to the team
  • Leads multiple design projects concurrently and shift priorities as required to meet business requirements and deadlines
  • Conceptualize and design original ideas to portray concepts and advertise products/services, including branding, logo development, illustrations, infographics, etc.
  • Produce sketches and mood-boards, to visualize ideas and implement marketing initiatives and strategic positioning
  • Work closely with Senior Leadership on high visibility projects
  • Work on meetings, design direction, design, production assistance, onsite meeting needs, etc.
  • Discover, analyze and recommend solutions for all applications
  • Develop clear ideas and concepts based on the creative brief
  • Analyze, digest and convert request into a strategic concept and visually interesting design
  • Demonstrated ability to provide design of complex pieces ranging from internal campaigns to externally viewed multi component campaigns

Qualifications
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
  • Execution and process oriented, forward thinking, diligent and creative
  • 3+ years’ experience at a design agency, or a comparable employer (large, corporate environment) in a similar role
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal skills; promotes open communication within the department
  • Able to work effectively and efficiently in cross-functional teams
  • Experience working cross functionally within corporate environment
  • Experience managing and leading large-scale projects
  • Trustworthy with confidential information
  • Strong knowledge of current design trends
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience with preferred emphasis on graphic design or similar graphic arts related degree
  • Capacity to deliver against quality, timing and cost targets
  • The ability to adapt when project demands change or increase
  • Expert knowledge of design applications, including Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, and InVision
  • Highly effective in a fast-paced environment; works well under pressure
  • Technical knowledge related to media production tools
  • Ability to clearly delegate tasks and deliver constructive feedback
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Analytical thought process with high integrity
  • Ability to collaborate with all levels of employees and management as well as with outside agencies
