The Senior Communications Specialist will lead the development and roll-out of communications, plan the development and activities supporting various areas of the business, including but not limited to interaction with multiple internal and external stakeholders. Lead the activation of projects focused on reinforcing the Communications and Public Affairs department objectives and goals. The Sr. Communications Specialist will: drive communications efforts aligned to the function’s scope as assigned by the function leader, be accountable for the development of new materials and content guided by company guidelines and regulations and manage projects with multiple deliverables. This role within the Communications and Public Affairs team also collaborates closely with employees at all levels of the organization cross-functionally and outside vendors based on project plans and deadlines to ensure results as expected.
Responsibilities
- Material revisions including extensive proofreading and content validation as per established processes.
- Project management of business-related communication plans, including auditing suppliers and other external stakeholders’ deliverables.
- Alignment with Communications and Public Affairs team members to ensure overall team strategy is on-track and projects are prioritized as necessary.
- Accountable for all material review, submissions for content created within Corporate Communications. Development and execution of multi-channel communications plans, including the necessary tools, resources, and materials required to deliver flawlessly.
- Liaises with each area the timely flow of information to ensure the broader department is well informed and applies insight to enhance communications plans (develops calendars and milestones trackers).
- Responsible for managing the development and maintenance of appropriate division policies and procedures, agency and reporter data base, and relevant metrics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
- Experience in the healthcare/bio-pharma industry or agency setting is a plus.
- Requires exemplary writing, verbal skills in Spanish and English plus excellent problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office – experience with Photoshop, Dreamweaver, SharePoint preferred.
- Required: Minimum of 7 years of experience in the development and execution of internal and external communications programs and activities, with an emphasis on writing for business and overall project management.
- Strong inter-personal, prioritization, time management, multi-tasking, and organization skills to handle multiple deadlines and work effectively as part of the team.
- Quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
- Demonstrates initiative, creativity, and strategic, analytical and leadership capabilities.
