Job Overview:
In the position of an Off-Price Buyer for an ecom store, your responsibility will include identifying, sourcing, and purchasing merchandise for our online off-price retail business in all categories. Your main goal will be to obtain high-quality products from several suppliers and negotiate reasonable prices to ensure a continuous supply of popular and attractive items to our online store.
The job requires you to have a sharp eye for trends, excellent negotiation skills, knowledge of the market, and the ability to maintain strong relationships with suppliers. You will work closely with the management and play a vital role in establishing our presence as a leading strategic online retailer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stay updated on market trends, consumer preferences, and industry developments to make informed buying decisions for our online store.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor competitors' offerings and pricing strategies in the online space to identify potential opportunities and stay competitive in the online market.
- Category Management:
- Provide input on pricing, promotions, and marketing campaigns tailored for online customers.
- Collaborate with the merchandising team, digital marketing, and online store operations to align buying strategies with overall business goals for the online platform.
- Data Analysis and Forecasting:
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of various product categories, including but not limited to apparel, accessories, footwear, home goods, electronics, and more, in the context of online retail.
- Negotiate purchase terms, pricing, and volume discounts to maximize profitability while offering compelling deals to customers in the online marketplace.
- Utilize data analysis tools to assess sales performance, demand patterns, and inventory turnover for online products.
- Generate accurate sales forecasts and adjust buying strategies accordingly to optimize online sales.
- Evaluate potential suppliers based on their product offerings, quality, reliability, and pricing competitiveness for online retail.
- Monitor inventory levels, sales performance, and market demand to maintain an optimal mix of products in each category for the online platform.

- Source and establish relationships with a diverse range of suppliers, including manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors, and other partners, focusing on online sales channels.
- Implement inventory control measures to minimize excess stock and markdowns for online sales.
