Senior Bi Data Engineer - Remote

DriveTime needs a Senior BI Data Engineer.

• Utilize Snowflake, an innovative cloud-based data platform, to design and manage data warehousing solutions.
• Apply critical thinking skills to identify and address data quality issues, anomalies, and inconsistencies in the data pipeline.
• Leverage your analytical skills to identify patterns, trends, and insights from data to support business decision-making processes.
• Develop data processes that support business intelligence workflows, ensuring data integrity and reliability for real-time operations.
• Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines and ETL processes using SQL Server, Snowflake, Kafka, Argo, and SSIS to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into data warehouses and data lakes.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines, addressing any performance issues, data quality concerns, or system failures.
• Implement data modeling techniques and best practices to optimize data storage, retrieval, and analysis.
• Analyze operational business workflows to understand data requirements, process dependencies, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Collaborate with product team leaders, software engineers, data scientists and analysts to provide them with the necessary data infrastructure and tools for software application data functionality, analysis, and reporting.
• Utilize Argo, a container-native workflow engine (if applicable), to orchestrate and schedule complex data workflows and job dependencies.
• Write efficient and scalable SQL queries, stored procedures, and database scripts to manipulate and transform large volumes of data.
• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in the field of data engineering and suggest improvements to enhance data processing and analytics capabilities.
• Utilize Python programming to develop data processing scripts, automate data workflows, and enhance data integration capabilities.

• Proficiency in Python programming language (a plus) for data processing and automation tasks.
• Experience with Snowflake (a plus), building complex stored procedures, using streams, tasks, time travel, etc.
• Solid understanding of data modeling principles, data warehousing concepts, and database design.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience as a Data Engineer
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse, cross-functional teams.
• Experience with Argo (a plus), a container-native workflow engine, for creating and orchestrating data workflows.
• Ability to adapt to new technologies, learn quickly, and stay updated with industry advancements.
• Critical thinking abilities to evaluate data quality, identify anomalies, and provide data-driven insights.
• Strong analytical skills to analyze operational business workflows and identify data requirements and KPIs.
• Experience in developing data processes that support online transactional processing workflows.
• Strong experience in SQL Server, SSIS, and Stored Procedures for data integration and ETL processes. Experience writing complex SQL queries, performing performance tuning, scheduling jobs. Utilizing CDC is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to address issues in data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Experience with Kafka is a plus.
