Business Unit Description

CIBC Innovation Banking partners with entrepreneurs and their investors to help them achieve their ambitions each and every day. With a coast to coast market presence in Canada and the United States, we strive to make capital accessible so that leaders driving our innovation economy forward can thrive.

We recognize that companies in the innovation economy have unique financing requirements during their growth cycle. Our specialized team leverages their industry knowledge and extensive deal experience to offer tailored venture debt, growth capital, and leveraged lending to further accelerate the strategic plans of high growth tech and life science companies across North America, United Kingdom and select European countries.

The Innovation Bank’s Life Science and Healthcare team, based in Menlo Park and Boston, focus on partnering with HealthTech, medical technology, diagnostics/tools, and tech-enabled service companies and their investors at every stage of the business life cycle.

Our creative approach forges meaningful relationships with world-class investors, executives, and key opinion leaders. The Innovation Bank’s culture empowers each team member with countless professional development opportunities, all rooted in our entrepreneurial mindset and subsector industry expertise.

What You’ll Be Doing

The Associate's primary responsibilities will be participating in all aspects of the investment process, from initial screening and due diligence, through approval, documentation, and post-investment monitoring. • Maintaining and developing client relationships, exploring opportunities to provide additional credit and non-credit services
  • Monitoring market trends and closely tracking the portfolio macro and micro dynamics
