Senior Accountant-General Ledger

As a member of the Brooks corporate finance team, this role is an integral part of the monthly financial close process. Contributing to our dynamic and growing business, mutual success will be achieved through demonstrated strong accounting, communication skills, and a proactive, deadline-focused approach.
What you will do:
  • Backup as assigned, to ensure coverage and resilience within the department
  • Work closely with other teams within the finance organization as well as other functional areas such as Legal, HR and IT
  • Help to reduce month end close cycle times by identifying process improvements and take ownership of assigned responsibilities
  • Assist with other transactions as needed such as acquisitions and debt transactions
  • Record monthly third-party vendor accruals from outside audit and legal firms
  • Contribute to process improvement projects which may include participation in ERP systems implementation (migrating from Oracle EBS to Oracle Cloud)
  • Perform GL account reconciliations and related GL analysis
  • Perform monthly inter-company reconciliations, and initiate related monthly cash settlements
  • Support quarter and year end efforts – prepare audit schedules & help to manage the data flow of information to external auditors
What you will bring:
  • Prior experience working in a global company that transacts in foreign currencies
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/ Finance and a minimum of 5 years’ experience (public company experience is a plus)
  • Strong analytical and Excel skills
  • Oracle General Ledger experience is preferred (or similar ERP)
