We are working with our client Sea Bags in seeking a Senior Accountant, to be based in their Portland, ME office. The Senior Accountant will have a heavy focus on day-to-day maintenance of complete and accurate general ledger accounts, month-end closing activities and financial reports.

Requirements of the Senior Accountant:

• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Strong personal and professional ethical values
• Ability to commute to the Portland, ME office Monday through Friday.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 4+ years of experience focused on general ledger accounting
• Willingness to immerse self in the business and develop company-wide understanding of operations and related accounting procedures and methods
• 4+ years of experience with NetSuite or similar ERP/Accounting systems
• Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Ability to work effectively in a complex and fast-moving organization

Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:

• Other duties and projects as needed
• Bank reconciliations
• Month-end closing activities
• Fixed asset accounting
• Day-to-day maintenance of complete and accurate general ledger accounts
• Preparation of various financial reports
