Job Description
Red Stag Fulfillment is an order fulfillment company for eCommerce businesses. Headquartered in Knoxville, Tennessee, Red Stag was created with one mission to redefine the 3PL experience for both clients and employees. By leveraging technology to ensure accurate, reliable, secure, and fast shipping, we have quickly established ourselves as a world-class fulfillment company — and we’re ready for more.

Red Stag is a unique and special organization. We understand that our team members are our most important asset. We have grown into one of America’s best order fulfillment companies by building a team of people who are eager to be a part of our growth. To make this happen, our team members show up and give their all every day. Our core values are of paramount importance and inform and guide all our decisions.

Here at Red Stag

  • We act like we own it.
  • We always seek to improve.
  • We treat everyone with dignity and respect.
  • We have positive attitudes.
  • We sweat the small stuff.

You are the one we are looking for if

You are builder and developer, whether that be creating a better process, putting together an insightful analysis, or developing a team member. You love helping people, both in terms of supporting the business and helping them increase their skills. You are much more uncomfortable when you have too little to do than when you have too much to do. You must know why things work and why we do things the way that we do. You don’t stop asking questions until you truly understand the “why,” and you regularly ask if we could do things differently. One of your least favorite responses is, “Because that is how we have always done it.”

You love to dig into the numbers and processes and “tear things apart” so you can understand root cause and find ways to do things faster and more accurately. Your main purpose in doing so is to free up time to dig into other areas where you can learn and improve. Challenges caused by growth and scaling a business excite you (i.e., you would rather run into a burning building to make a difference rather than run away from it).

You love accounting because it is the language of business and the numbers are a window into business health, and you see your role as a service provider to those that truly drive the company’s success. You are detail oriented, have a solid understanding of accounting, know how to keep the trains running on time (or even better, have them arrive early), and geek out on finding ways to make inefficient and time-consuming processes get better or go away. You lead by example and consider your job to be part sport and part hobby. You love to win AND have fun (you are an accountant that has not forgotten how to laugh)! Challenges and a long list of improvement projects energize you much more than they frighten or discourage you. You are confident in your abilities to figure things out, but humble enough to realize that you don’t know everything. You are a project manager extraordinaire and can self-manage and still see great value in collaboration and feedback. You're equally comfortable with the people and conversations you'd have with the CFO as those you'd find on the warehouse floor (and you're not confused about which one is more important to our clients [hint, not the CFO!]).

You are seeking an opportunity to join a rapidly growing company and be part of a team responsible for serving and growing the business. You aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves, get up to speed quickly, and do what it takes to get the job done. If you are more comfortable with someone directing your day-to-day activity — i.e., telling you exactly what to do — then this is absolutely not the position for you. But, if you like the idea of diving right in, creating new processes, owning your own workflow, getting stuff done, and actively growing in new areas, then this might be your perfect fit.

The core mission of the Senior Accountant is to partner with the Controller to build a best-in-class accounting function that can not only support but help accelerate the company’s growth by more efficiently performing accounting operations, providing reporting with meaningful insights, supporting clients, and facilitating data-driven decisions.

About the role

The Senior Accountant is a key role for the accounting department and the company as we look to scale rapidly and further take advantage of both macroeconomic tailwinds and the company’s success to date. This position will interact heavily with the Controller, FP&A Director, CFO, and company management to support them with their various back office needs and ensuring accurate record keeping.

From Red Stag’s very beginning, we’ve tried to create a world-class working experience for our team members. Simply put, we want to redefine expectations for a warehouse workplace. Now we need someone who can help build a best-in-class accounting function that will take us to the next level! We are looking for a rock star Accounting Manager to build/develop a team that can provide department leaders with the accounting services needed to scale efficiently as we continue to grow rapidly.
