The Senior Accountant will be a trusted member of the accounting and finance team, located in St. Louis, Missouri. This person will support the parent company and acquired businesses, balance sheet, financial consolidation, financial reporting, and overall control processes with broad responsibilities in audit, tax, treasury, accounting and the corporate month-end close process.
This is a Full Time onsite position.
Scope of Role

• Document and monitor internal controls.
• Prepare financial and supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule.
• Assist with State, Local, real estate, property tax and business license filings
• Assist in developing and enforcing accounting policies/procedures.
• Assist with financial and tax audits.
• Facilitate and complete monthly close procedures.
• Other projects as assigned (i.e. - accounting system enhancements, integration with other internal systems, etc.).
• Monitor and reconcile corporate bank account activity and balances.
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations.
• Record accounting transaction activity for the corporate office, including payroll, insurance, benefits, purchasing cards, real estate activities, intercompany transactions, and key corporate vendors.
• Assist in weekly/monthly reporting and analysis

Requirements

• 5 years or more of financial accounting experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus.
• Ability to act and operate independently with limited supervision.
• Experience with state, local, real estate, and property tax required.
• Attention to detail; deadline oriented.
• Experience with financial reporting requirements and standards.
• CPA preferred.
• Comfortable working in a data-driven environment.
