Bartlett Regional Hospital is searching for a Security Officer to join our Facilities team!

Job Summary:

Under the general supervision of the supervisor or designee, incumbents protect and ensure the safety of all property and individuals on Bartlett Regional Hospital premises and patrols hospital buildings and grounds to prevent fire, theft and vandalism. Incumbents secure, unlock and protect hospital buildings and also respond to the security needs of hospital staff, patients and visitors.

What You Will Do:

  • Provides a visible deterrence to crime and prohibited activities by patrolling the buildings and grounds of the Hospital. Patrols parking areas to detect any suspicious activity, illegally parked vehicles, blocked loading zones and any abandoned vehicles.
  • Supports Bartlett Regional Hospital’s strong commitment to the highest standards of business and professional ethics. Provides services in compliance with all Federal and State laws governing the Hospital’s operations
  • Investigates incidents of unusual circumstances reported by Hospital personnel, visitors, physicians or patients and reports all incidents, verbally or through general incident form, by the end of each shift. Writes accurate, clear and legible incident reports and documents any investigatory steps taken and results. Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Responds quickly and effectively to emergent situations using established hospital procedures, including emergency codes / alarms.

Minimum Qualifications for the Job:

  • Experience: One (1) year in the field of law enforcement and/or security. Substitution: Post-secondary education in criminal justice may be substituted for up to half of the experience requirement on a month-for-month basis.
  • Other: Must be able to successfully pass criminal background check. Completes annual educational requirements.
  • Certification(s): Behavioral Emergency Response Team Certification (BERT) within 90 days of employment. Within the probationary period, must obtain: Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM) Certification & International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety Certification.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required

Internal Hires: Pay rate will be determined based on applicable personnel rule or union contract terms.
