Position Summary:
The Security Manager executes fact-based investigations in the areas of fraud, theft, workplace violence, employee misconduct and other criminal activities in partnership with the Internal Controls and Human Resources departments. This position provides for the safeguarding of company assets through cross-functional collaboration by implementing strategies, systems, training, programs and processes that mitigate risk, prevent losses and ensure facility security.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
  • Other projects or duties as assigned.
  • Manage the successful resolution of incidents of threatened extortion and product tampering.
  • Lead the security function in collaboration with the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) and others relative to Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Food Defense compliance and mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare and submit reports related to investigations, audits, and security activities.
  • Participate in conflict resolution, incident management and crisis response and business continuity stemming from workplace violence, threats or intimidation, natural disasters, labor work stoppage, etc.
  • Design and implement facility physical security plans to include security detection systems, access control devices, uniformed security guard activities and ensure security adequacy of the cashier’s room, lighting systems and perimeter security.
  • Design and manage programs, standard operating procedures and policies to assist the company in the reduction of theft vulnerabilities and loss prevention.
  • Collaborate with Office of Ethics and Compliance as needed.
  • Develop and maintain productive liaison with law enforcement authorities and regulatory agencies at the Federal, State and local levels as needed.
  • Collaborate and provide counsel to all employees and functional stakeholders in developing, facilitating and assessing security strategies for protecting company assets, employees, and brands.
  • Provide security plan and execution if labor work stoppage occurs.
  • Prepare fact-based investigative reports and documentation for action by legal counsel, facility management or prospective authorities as appropriate.
  • Prepare annual capital requirements for security and access control system enhancements orreplacements
  • Conduct training for employees concerning fraud detection, crime prevention, theft audits, security awareness including crime prevention techniques and other security related topics.
  • Coordinate with auditors to prepare and initiate field investigations for vending and delivery employees.
  • Detect and investigate incidents of internal fraud, theft, and malicious business activity associated with our company and our employees in collaboration with the Internal Controls department.

  • Bachelor's degree and 6 plus years of experience in law enforcement, government, corporate security or another investigative field OR High School Diploma/GED and 9 plus years of experience in law enforcement, government, corporate security, or another investigative field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge of criminal law, evidence, investigative and physical security protocols.
  • This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test.
  • Experience developing, leading, and successfully mitigating various business operations risks / investigations / prevention strategies, etc.
  • Intermediate experience in Microsoft Office Suite tools
  • Ability to take initiative

Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Experience working in a Manufacturing or Distribution environment.
