has an exciting opportunity for a Security Manager based in Johnston, IA.
This role will Manage 24-hour Crisis Response Center, security department, and serve as in-house consultant on security issues and planning. Centralized communication and response center for all locations worldwide. Promote safety and security for the protection of employees, guests & visitors, intellectual property, facilities, equipment, and property.

What You'll Do:
PLAN/BUDGET
  • Monitor expenditures.
  • Develop and manage annual department plan and budget for security and emergency responses.
SECURITY & SAFETY PLANNING AND CONSULTATION
  • Meet with department heads (VPs, Directors and Country leaders) at locations to advise on security & safety related plans and issues as requested.
  • Continually enhance plans for existing sites and buildings. Assist with security projects or task forces.
  • Create and maintain a campus security plan identifying the key risks on campus
  • Actively monitor and prepare preventative measures to reduce threats and risks of activist vandalism, etc.
  • Direct, recommend, and assist with security plans for new sites and buildings.
  • Actively work with counterparts to perform Vulnerability Assessment Methodology (VAM) studies.
INVESTIGATIVE AND SPECIAL SECURITY SERVICES
  • Work with Directors of Human Resources, Risk Management, Legal, Communications, and Corporate Services regarding employee security risks including things such as terminations, threats, employee theft, domestic violence, suicide watches, stalkings, etc. Coordinate surveillance, bodyguard work, and executive protection.
  • Manage investigation services for all security incidents (thefts, break-in's etc.), prepare reports, review information with department heads, and advise on how to handle.
  • Inform and coordinate with police (local authorities). Using the assistance of Pioneer's Frontline team as necessary.
MANAGE PROVISION OF REGULAR SECURITY SERVICES
  • Manage critical monitoring (fire, burglary, personnel emergencies, temperature, equipment malfunction, etc) of North American locations through the use of electronic systems, ensuring timely response, access requests are properly processed, recorded, and monitored.
  • Conduct physical security surveys to benchmark protection and recommend changes.
  • Promote safety at all times.
  • Coordinate traffic control and other services for special events/functions.
  • Work with Facilities Director to develop and implement policies and procedures related to preventative property/building security.
  • Direct and monitor security activities. First priority is 'people safety'.
  • Direct security & disposal of confidential information for several departments.
  • Activities include: ensuring officers make thorough checks of designated property to prevent vandalism, spot fires or other hazards, and control the access of unauthorized individuals.
    • Work with Facilities Director to develop and implement policies and procedures related to preventative property/building security.
    • Promote safety at all times.
    • Conduct physical security surveys to benchmark protection and recommend changes.
    • Manage critical monitoring (fire, burglary, personnel emergencies, temperature, equipment malfunction, etc) of North American locations through the use of electronic systems, ensuring timely response, access requests are properly processed, recorded, and monitored.
    • Manage all functions necessary for maintaining video/camera surveillance and alarm systems (DMS/Johnston and North American sites).
    • Direct security & disposal of confidential information for several departments.
    • Coordinate traffic control and other services for special events/functions.

SUPERVISION
  • Direct coordination of schedules to ensure training consistency and completion. Include after-hours and weekend training schedules.
  • Review daily door alarm reports. Follow up as needed.
  • Assure staff is properly trained in security measures, self-defense, first aid, Automatic External Defibrillator, and CPR.
  • Review daily officer activity and log sheets. Follow up as needed.
  • Direct work priorities, set objectives, review progress, develop abilities, evaluate performance, and provide feedback/coaching.
  • Supervise the activities of security personnel.
EMERGENCY RESPONSE
  • Serve as 24-hr contact for chemical spraying and similar problems during detasseling/field work time throughout North America.
  • Involve language interpreters when needed.
  • Frequently up date all information (names, phone numbers, etc)
  • Manage crisis response center which monitors and responds to Worldwide 911 calls, duress alarms, medical emergencies, fires, etc.
  • Contact authority having jurisdiction; police, fire department, etc. as needed.
  • Develop and monitor provision of emergency response procedures.
  • Participate and provide leadership at all Crisis Response Team meetings (Legal, Risk, Communications, Corporate Services)
DISASTER RESPONSE
  • Serve on World Wide disaster response team preparing plans and materials for dealing with situations such as floods, tornadoes, fires, emergency evacuations, etc.
MANAGE VENDORS & OTHER NON-PIONEER SERVICE PRIOVIDERS
  • Manage non-Pioneer personnel access and security related issues. Oversee provision of services, assuring safety, security and contract terms are adhered to.
OTHER
  • Promote safety, security and the department objectives
  • Participate as part of FS&RE team.
  • Develop and conduct security training/seminars for receptionist, maintenance, and other personnel.
  • Conduct personal and professional development.
Critical Success Factors:
  • Manage crisis response, department activities, and personnel. Responsible for implementation of crisis response team and security services whenever needed on a 24 hour basis. Expertise and advice can be critical to successful management of security and crisis situations.
  • Manage 24-hour, 7 day a week crisis response center staff to ensure response consistency.
  • Deal with a variety of issues that require a timely response based upon experience and knowledge at all hours.

Qualifications


What Skills You Need:

  • Ability to communicate with people at all levels and under pressure from many sources.
  • High level of confidentiality.
  • Professional security training certification or equivalent is preferred.
  • Presentation/training skills.
  • Experience: 10 years experience in security or law enforcement. Supervisory experience important. Working knowledge of emergency procedures and electronic and other surveillance systems.
  • Education: Experience more important than education. Bachelors degree or equivalent in law enforcement or related subject matter preferred.
  • Ability to perform functions in low profile almost invisible manner.
  • Ability to establish good rapport with police departments and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ).
