What we're looking for

We are currently looking for a Seasonal Groundskeeper. The Groundskeeper position is responsible for the successful operation of the entire landscaping department for Vacasa in Steamboat Springs, CO.

This is a seasonal position. We are hiring for this position now and employment is expected to end on or around 11/1/2023. While the company is under no obligation to extend your employment through the season nor beyond the end date, there may be additional opportunities within this or other roles.

What you'll do

• Septic system and outdoor bathroom upkeep
• Gathers and removes trash
• Care for landscapes by mulching, aerating, weeding, thatching, removing litter, and trimming/edging around flower beds, walks, and walls
• Assists with general repairs of irrigations systems
• Mow and trim turf grounds, using power mowers and trimmers.
• Prunes and trims trees, shrubs and hedges, using shears, pruners or chain saws
• Snow removal and application of deicing product
• Cares for established lawns by mulching, aerating, wedding and removing thatch
• Uses hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, hedge and brunch trimmers and axes
• Plant seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, and shrubs using gardening tools
• Mix and spray or spread fertilizers onto flowers, grass, shrubs, and trees, using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders
• Haul and place cobble and rock of various sizes

The skills you'll need

• Highly responsive and reliable
• Prior landscaping/grounds experience preferred
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to change activity frequently and cope with interruptions
• Strong attention to detail
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Ability to work well under pressure in an agile, fast-paced environment

Work environment and physical demands

• Have a reliable form of transportation to and from work.
• Occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds
• Reach overhead and below the waist
• Occasional need to perform housekeeping and maintenance duties
• The physical demands described here are an example of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
• Regularly push, pull, and lift up to 25 pounds
• Exposure to hot and cold temperatures and environmental conditions
• Bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and twist
• Ability to stand, sit, and walk for an extended period of time
• Availability to work Sunday through Saturday, early mornings and evenings as needed.

Compensation:

• $750 Bonus ($500 sign on bonus after 30 days of employment, $250 retention bonus after 90 days of employment)
• $22/hour
