What you’ll do

The Logistics team develops the software and systems that keeps the freight moving in order to support the growing business. Our team thrives on strong relationships with our business partners and working diligently to address their needs which support TJX growth and operational stability.

As a Scrum Master, your core responsibilities will include assisting the team to clear obstacles, establishing an environment where the team can be effective, addressing any team dynamics as well as supporting the team to control outside interruptions and distractions. You will also work with the Product Manager and the scrum team in planning and coordinating the deployment into production for large epics/initiatives that span multiple product and shared services teams.

General Description

• Works closely with the Product Owner to prioritize backlog and prepare for PI events
• Receives guidance and coaching from a more experienced Scrum Master or RTE
• Responsible for ensuring that the scrum team achieves its goals
• Removes roadblocks within the team or arising from external sources
• Facilitates all team meetings and ceremonies according to SAFe agile principles
• Communicates progress to customers, team, and management
• Acts as the primary administrator for Jira and other tools utilized by the scrum team
• Learns how to enforce the rules of the scrum process and other team defined agreements
• Coordinates with other teams within the ART or external teams and cascades information to the scrum team
• Ensures that goals, scope, and product domain are understood by everyone on the scrum team

Minimum Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, tailoring to audiences
• Proven ability to communicate, facilitate, and negotiate
• Proven ability of managing dependencies and shifting priorities in and across sprints and releases
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent IT Delivery skillset / training / experience
• Understanding of agile methodology, techniques, frameworks (SAFe, Scrum, or Kanban) and agile tools (such as Jira and Confluence)
• Strong critical thinking skills and demonstrated ability to proactively manage stakeholder expectations
• Ability to drive conversations with cross-functional teams
• 2+ years of experience as a Scrum Master/project manager/program manager

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the Transportation/Logistics field
• Familiarity with the retail industry & best practices
• Experience of working as part of an Agile Release Train and participating in ART and Scrum Team Ceremonies
• Knowledge and experience with Logistics applications (i.e. Blue Yonder/JDA)
• Experience participating in and leading Scrum/SAFe events, such as Sprint Planning, Release Planning, and Program Increment (PI) Planning
