Job Description
Sanofi Immuno-Oncology Therapeutic Area is seeking a highly motivated and talented individual with knowledge of biomedical engineering and immunology for a scientist role. The individual will support next generation novel cell therapy programs. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic and multi-disciplinary environment in early drug discovery with significant career development opportunity. He/she will independently design and execute proof of concept studies, validate and implement immunoassays, and work closely with the project head to ensure timely progression of programs . The candidate must be self-motivated, resourceful, and able to work independently. Excellent organizational skills in management of data, reagents, and equipment are essential. The candidate will participate in project team meeting, present results, interpret data, and formulate conclusions. Teamwork, collaboration with colleagues across disciplines, and excellent verbal and written communication skills are critical. This position is for a laboratory scientist and supervision of co-op students and fellows. based at Precision Cytokine and Cell Therapy cluster in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA
Position Overview & Job Responsibilities
  • Present research findings and progress at project team meetings.
  • Work collaboratively across IO therapeutic area and with colleagues from global platforms to advance projects from early discovery to first-in-human testing while adhering to timelines
  • Document all experimental design, protocols, results and interpretations in electronic laboratory notebook in a timely manner.
  • Supervision of co-op students or fellow may be required
  • Work with manager and platform colleagues to develop and implement program strategy
  • Independently plan, design experiments, and establish protocols based on published literature and project needs.
  • Perform data analysis, interpret experimental results, and generate presentation materials.
  • Perform in vitro and ex vivo experiments, including isolation and characterization of mouse and human primary immune cells using standard immunological techniques.
Basic Qualifications
  • Must be able and willing to learn and incorporate new concepts and technologies.
  • Must be both highly collaborative and able to work independently
  • Deep understanding of cellular and molecular assays.
  • Prior experience in high throughput system engineering and imaging is highly preferred
  • Immunology, Biology, or Biomedical Engineering Bachelor's Degree plus minimum 6 years of relevant research experience in an academic or biopharmaceutical setting OR Master’s Degree plus minimum 3 years of relevant research experience in an academic or biopharmaceutical setting OR PhD with relevant research experience in an academic or biopharmaceutical setting
  • Experience with murine tumor models commonly used in immuno-oncology research including immune deficient and humanized mice
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills
  • Hands-on experience in isolation and immune phenotyping of murine and human immune populations (e.g. cell sorting, flow cytometry) and functional assessment of immune subsets in standard immunological assays and techniques (e.g. cell proliferation, cytotoxicity assays, cytokine/chemokine measurement)
  • Deep knowledge of matrix, biomaterials, and an understanding of cellular/biological mechanisms, evidenced by thesis or publication in peer-reviewed journals.
