The upstream process development associate within the Manufacturing Technology (MTech) function of Manufacturing and Supply Vaccines (MSV) performs experiments within the upstream cell culture and bacterial group using baculovirus insect cell expression and meningococcus systems. Experiments will be performed at small-scale using flasks and 2L to 30L glass and stainless-steel bioreactors, as well as 200L single use bioreactors using batch and/or fed-batch processes. The candidate is also expected to assist cell culture and bacterial strategies and approaches to increase the yield of vaccine products. The mission of the MTech function is to deliver robust and efficient processes with associated knowledge to transfer to manufacturing.
