The Scientist II will be a technical expert performing continuous improvement activities and independently investigating, identifying, developing and optimizing new methods/ techniques to address critical project needs.
- Contribute to writing and conceptual framework of publications, presentations, and patents.
- Effectively organize and present scientific plans and data.
- Routinely read and apply relevant scientific literature. Impact projects mainly through lab and/or pilot plant-based activities where applicable.
- Innovate and implement new experimental protocols.
- Assists in troubleshooting multi-discipline problems.
- Applies scientific/engineering principles applicable to assigned tasks and problem-solving.
- Learn, understand and master new experimental techniques, and act as a resource or mentor for others.
- Exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Given a problem, design experiments and work independently to meet objectives.
- Independently design, execute and interpret critical experiments to answer scientific questions.
- Demonstrates a high level of proficiency in his/her field.
- Author routine technical reports.
Qualifications - External
- Demonstrates strong analytical skills and logical thought processes.
- Must demonstrate the ability for advanced data analysis and mastery of a broad range of experimental techniques and data analysis methods.
- Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering, preferably in Chemical Engineering with typically 7 years of experience in a related field; or Master's Degree in Science or Engineering, preferably in Chemical Engineering with typically 5 years of experience in a related field.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and comply with deadlines.
- Maintains their certifications as needed for assigned job tasks.
