This position reports into Manufacturing Supervisor/ Senior Manufacturing Supervisor and is based at Las Piedras, PR site.

What will you do

The Manufacturing Operator – Upstream is responsible for efficiently executes all activities necessary for or related to the control, operation, and light maintenance of manufacturing equipment under a compliance atmosphere. Perform manufacturing activities in Granulation, Compression and/or Rotor which determine purity, effectiveness and integrity of the manufactured product.

Key Responsibilities

Under limited supervision and in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations, the Johnson & Johnson Consumer (JJCI) policies, procedures and guidelines, this position:

1. Ensures quality and compliance in all actions:

  • Attends Good Manufacturing Practices trainings on the designated schedule for the role and as appropriate for the role.
  • Adheres to strict compliance with procedures applicable to the role and functions.
  • Proceed with the highest level of integrity in the tasks that are performed.
  • In a timely and prompt manner, identify, reports and seek correction for deviations noted in the workplace.
  • Embraces involvement and commitment behaviors of to doing the job right the first time.

2. Assures training in the assigned tasks have been delivered prior to execution.

3. Acts in accordance to the principles expressed in Our Credo and in the Quality Statement Policy in all negotiations and in all activities within and outside the company, and assures these are met.

4. Perform the tasks associated with control and operation of manufacturing equipment including solution preparation, weighing chemicals, granulating or coating, screening, sampling, process testing, reconciliation and other activities related to the process of the department to ensure purity, effectiveness and integrity of the finished product.

5. Receive propane tanks following established procedures to ensure environmental protection, to avoid potential issues and prevent security risks to the employee and / or community.

6. Perform receiving, dispatching, transfer, and sampling solvents activities according to the operational and environmental procedures established to assure the environmental protection, to avoid emission and to prevent spills and waste generation.

7. Handle explosive material (high volumes) as combustible dust, methanol and acetone. Use at any time, the personal protection equipment and safety controls established in the procedures to ensure environmental protection, to avoid potential issues and prevent security risks to the employee and/ or community.

8. Support the PSM Program (“Process Safety Management”) and their elements as it is required by their supervisor.

Qualifications


What we are looking for

Required Qualifications
  • Two (2) years or more experience in pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience with Process Safety Management
  • Basic knowledge in computer systems
  • GMP knowledge
Desired Qualifications
  • Forklift License is a plus.
