OBJECTIVE:
- Interact with vaccine development teams, Contract Research Orginizations, coordinate activities with internal and external teams.
- Conduct vaccine research studies using basic and advanced virologic and immunological techniques.
- Develop Assays for assessment of immunogenicity for clinical assay testing.
- Participate in drafting study reports, manuscripts, grants and present data at sponsor and collaborator’s meetings as well as national and international scientific conferences.
- Development of cell based assays
CORE ELEMENTS:
- Demonstrate ability to work in a matrixed team environment and the ability to effectively manage cross-functional groups.
- Write and maintain accurate, complete, and timely data in electronic laboratory notebooks.
- Prepare technical reports, summaries, and power point presentations for distribution and/or presentation to project teams and for inclusion in project reports.
- Supervise and guide scientists and/or research associates in the execution of research projects and evaluate their performance.
- Develop appropriate virological and/or immunologically-based assays as needed
- Present at internal and external scientific meetings.
- Liaison with external collaborators/consultants to advance projects effectively.
- Serve as Project Leader to manage timelines and report project updates.
EDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
- Be well organized and detail oriented, effectively prioritize, eager to learn, interact cooperatively and effectively with others in a team environment, and consistently demonstrate reliability and responsibility.
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to investigate and apply new methods and technologies for project advancement.
- Experience with qualification and validation of assays in regulated environments preferable
- Experience with QbD and DoE methodologies.
- PhD or MS in Microbiology, Virology or Immunology with at least 6 years’ experience, or B.S. in Microbiology, Virology or Immunology with at least 8 years research experience.
- Extensive tissue culture experience
- Critical to have Expertise in developing or improving cell based assays for assessment of clinical trial endpoints.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and mentor/develop others.
- Maintain current knowledge related to the field of molecular virology/Immunology and vaccine research and development relevant to the vaccine pipeline.
- Experience with tissue culture and Cell Based Assays required.
- Experience and Proficiency developing biological assays designed to measure viremia and/or immunogenicity in biological samples.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work in teams, both departmental, cross-functional, and external and demonstrated ability to lead meetings effectively.
Location and Salary Information:
Base Salary Range: $81,900 to $117,000 based on candidate professional experience level. Employees may also be eligible for Short Term and Long-Term Incentive benefits as well. Employees are eligible to participate in Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401(k), Charitable Contribution Match, Holidays, Personal Days & Vacation, Tuition Reimbursement Program and Paid Volunteer Time Off.
The final salary offered for this position may take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to, location, skills, education, and experience.
This position is currently classified as “hybrid” in accordance with Takeda’s Hybrid and Remote Work policy.”
