The Henderson mine is about 50 miles west of Denver and 10 miles west of Empire, and the mill is located between Dillon and Kremmling.

Description


Under general supervision, works with other Sampler Technicians at mine site to obtain and deliver consistent and accurate samples to the assay laboratory in a timely manner.


  • Obtain representative samples following the appropriate SOP's. Ensures that samples are obtained from equally spaced locations within the drill hole, that the minimum sample weight is obtained, that samples are correctly labeled, etc.
  • Responsible for verifying that equipment is functional and operating properly. Ensures that all sampling equipment is cleaned after each sample has been taken
  • Identify which drill holes require sampling from the Drill Pattern. Must work closely and coordinate work schedule with dispatch and/or drilling and blasting
  • May perform entry level analytical laboratory tasks to prepare samples for analysis, or assist with routine chemical analysis and reporting tasks
  • Performs other duties as required
  • Assists with quality control; for those sample locations that are identified as locations for duplicate samples, repeats the sampling process on the same blast hole. Ensures that the duplicate samples are correctly labeled and that both the original and the duplicate are identified accordingly for laboratory staff
  • Transport and deliver all samples to the assay laboratory, in a timely manner
  • May provide technical support to ore control and surveying staff, as required


Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications


  • Able to conduct preventive maintenance on assigned equipment
  • Skilled in planning, prioritizing and scheduling daily work assignments
  • Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards
  • Knowledge of site processes, equipment and infrastructure
  • Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions
  • Able to use a variety of computer software applications, especially Microsoft Office
  • Skill in safely using, maintaining and repairing specialized equipment to complete assigned duties, including GIS/GPS mapping techniques
  • Three (3) years experience in an area or areas relevant to the assignment
  • Knowledge of sampling equipment, processes, methods and techniques


Preferred


  • High School Diploma or GED

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, talk, hear and see.
  • Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
  • The work requires the ability to lift moderately heavy to heavy objects up to fifty (50) pounds and perform other similar actions frequently during the course of the workday
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required
  • Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards

Compensation:


The estimated pay range for this role is currently $22.00 - $30.00/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
