Sales Associate


The Company


Open Book Extracts (OBX) seeks a high energy, driven sales professional who is self-motivated, results-oriented and can execute. Reporting directly to the Chief Innovation Officer, the ideal candidate should possess strong relationship building and closing skills, and the ability to demonstrate success in a consultative sales cycle. The OBX Sales Associate role is a remote position, with travel to the headquarters in North Carolina and additional locations as needed.


Job Summary


The OBX Sales Associate has a critical area of focus: generate warm leads, and convert those leads into sales. To accomplish this feat, the OBX Sales Associate will perform the following tasks --


  • Identify and Contact Leads: Use tools and databases such as Google, LinkedIn, and ZoomInfo to identify dietary supplement brands with products that OBX formulates and manufactures, source their contact information, and reach out via email, text, phone, LinkedIn, or otherwise to introduce OBX and don't give up.
  • Provide Inbound Call Assistance: May be asked to assist with inbound sales calls as needed.
  • Respond to Concerns and Questions: Understand OBX products and services with fluency, quickly addressing customer concerns and questions and overcoming potential roadblocks in the sales cycle.
  • Meet Productivity Goals: Meet KPIs to ensure optimal productivity and efficiency, including daily calls, activity goals, lead conversion, and closed sales.
  • Keep CRM Current: One of the most important tasks involves retrieving customer information, helping to set up new customer accounts, accessing existing customer accounts, managing sensitive customer data across one or more computer systems, multi-tasking frequently and in many instances updating records in a computer system while conversing with customers.
  • Educate Prospects: Provide prospects and customers with information about OBX products and services without sounding "robotic" or "rehearsed".

  • Customer Service: Ensure prospects and customers enjoy an outstanding experience any time they engage with OBX.
  • Expert Communication Skills: Be a personable communicator who clearly and persuasively describes OBX products and services to customers to encourage sales transactions.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Identify and address prospect and customer concerns during the sales process.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with managers to evaluate KPIs and explore ways to generate sales growth.
  • Persistence: Remain driven and positive even in the face of adversity to transform leads into sales clients. Don't be discouraged!
  • Research Experience: Enjoy learning about prospects and customers and find innovative ways of engaging with them to turn leads into sales clients.


Qualifications


  • Excellent communicator and collaborator; able to work with both technical and non-technical teams
  • Experience working with Excel, Powerpoint, PM Software like Wrike, Collaboration tools like Google Meet, Google Docs, etc
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience with a focus in Sales or Business Operations
  • Demonstrated ability to be proactive, self-driven, and make practical trade-offs when necessary
  • Experience working in CRM or ERP Systems (Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Acumatica)
  • Creative problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable navigating ambiguity
  • Familiarity with Sales and Manufacturing terminology and metrics
