Who you are:

You can demonstrate experience in a customer-facing role, whether sales or customer service, possibly within the publishing industry, and are looking to apply your skills and expand upon them. You are versatile and thrive in a fast-paced, creative environment. You enjoy learning, executing concrete tasks and meeting goals. Above all, you understand that relationships (both internal and external) rule the day, and you take the time to listen and respond to the needs of clients and colleagues. You have strong communication skills, both written and verbal and you appreciate efficiency.


What you’ll do:

With confidence and initiative you will support targeted outreach to existing customers and prospects across all global sales channels. Through a combination of sales preparation, support and follow-up, you will maintain and strengthen relationships, and foster new ones. You will also provide invaluable support across our small but mighty sales team. This role has great potential for growth across our multi-channel publishing business.


Key areas of focus for this role include:

  • Occasional travel to trade shows and conferences and to meet with customers in person
  • Organizing sales materials, both physical and digital for a range of channels
  • Scheduling and organizing calendars and meetings for sales trips
  • Supporting day-to-day business for established domestic and international accounts across the traditional book and gift trade, key accounts, B2C and rights and licensing
  • Proactively identifying prospective customers and developing inbound sales leads


Reporting to our Global Sales Director, you will work closely and collaboratively with other members of the sales team, as well as the marketing and operations teams.


What you’ll bring:

  • An authentic connection to Barefoot’s mission
  • Experience in publishing a plus
  • An innate attention to detail, organization and strong execution skills
  • A preparedness to travel to meet customers and prospects, and attend trade shows
  • 1–2 years experience in a sales or customer-facing role
  • A passion for meeting new people as well as building long-term relationships


We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Spreadsheet skills and experience using Google Suite, Outlook and related software
  • Familiarity with Bookscan and Edelweiss is beneficial
  • An eagerness to undertake domestic and occasional international travel
  • The ability to move for extended periods of time
  • A positive attitude and infectious excitement for children’s books and Barefoot’s mission
  • The ability to transport up to 20 lbs
