Sales And Use Tax Intern

The intern will be working on a Hybrid, Part-time schedule.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Utilize tax and accounting software, including Vertex O Series 9.0 tax management software,

SAP and Microsoft Dynamics Axapta 6.0.

• Review, validate and enter into Vertex customer sales tax exemption certificates.
• Update Axapta 6.0 sales tax codes for customer exemptions.
• Interact directly with customers for corrections or updates to exemption certificates
• Complete and provide vendor exemption certificates upon request.

• Assist with preparing information requested by state sales tax auditors.
• Interact with Accounting and Finance personnel.
• Complete special projects requested by the Indirect Tax Leader.
• Add new customers and update taxability of existing customers in Vertex and Axapta 6.0.
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding invoiced sales tax.

Requirements:

• Must be enrolled into a university accounting program.

• Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be a self-starter and able to work independently.
• Must be organized, disciplined and able to meet deadlines.
• Must be a good listener and able to quickly grasp new concepts and an understanding of the

business.

• Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel.
